I'll be honest, I'm slightly side eyeing Louis' actions here. It doesn't make sense to me. Tho I do recognize that there is a LOT we don't know here.
All we have is the info HLD gave us, and from their understanding it happened because *someone* told Louis HLD was leaking stuff, and leaked/spread the festival info before he did. We don't know if there's 100% proof that this is the reason. Maybe HLD knows for a fact, but I understand if they can't post it. We don't know.
I just find it odd, impulsive and tbh a bit immature to block your biggest UA in what reads as a bit of a spiteful emotional reaction. Based on what? The word of ONE other UA? If one stopped to asses the situation they would see that HLD *didn't* leak the festival info. It was everywhere online and on the website of the venue, and a band who is playing in it had posted about it. So it makes little sense to put all the blame on 1 UA for it, especially when so many others posted too.
The only thing against HLD here *is* the fact that they *are* Louis' biggest UA and as such have the biggest reach. So perhaps in Louis' eyes that counts as the reason for them to be the ones to blame? But we don't know.
Regardless, I don't think this is a very smart decision on his part. HLD do essentially free publicity for him. And they have a massive reach. So it feels odd to basically freeze them out.
Other things at play that we simply don't know are:
We don't know HLD's previous relationship with Louis. Maybe they've spoken before, or maybe this was the culmination of other small things that annoyed Louis. WE DON'T KNOW
We don't know Louis' plans for his upcoming era. I'd understand if he wanted his identity as an artist to be independent from Harry. It makes sense as an artist. UAs get quoted in articles all the time, so maybe that is one factor that counts against HLD too, sadly. But regardless of Larry, artists want an independent identity, and being tied to another artist is not optimal. - and again WE DON'T KNOW
Also important to point out tho, he only blocked them on Twitter for some reason. HLD still follows him on IG.

TBPH I don’t think Louis blocked them. I think that IF they are in fact blocked by his twitter account, someone else did it. How many times and in how many ways has Louis been sabotaged before? Yes, I get it about wanting to be a solo artist and not always connected to a former bandmate but in all honesty, Louis and Harry both do the connecting themselves on a regular basis so I call bs on Louis actually doing that himself. Something is going on behind the scenes that’s for sure.

I have friends who've seen him, out and about, in London and there weren't any fandom reports or photos on those days. If he's being photographed (especially in a highly public and touristy part of a city, and especially with his PR girlfriend), it's planned.
I want to start this off by saying that I love the idea that Harry Styles wrote a song called Love of my Life about Louis Tomlinson. Love it, love it, love it; love anyone and everyone who interprets this song that way, and this analysis is in no way meant to invalidate that understanding of it.
This is just a personal interpretation, based on which parts of the song resonate the most with me, my understanding of Harry’s writing style, the theme of the album, and which lyrics/words/lines (and tenses) called my attention the most.
That said…
…is Love of my Life actually about privacy and freedom? (This is gonna get long, more under the cut.)

I spoke a little about Harry’s writing patterns and vocabulary, but one thing that we’ve also noticed over the last three albums is that Harry speaks about people in a very layered way:
‘You’ is usually used as a gender-neutral song subject.
‘She’ and similar words (woman, angel) are more often a reference to himself.
‘Him’ and similar words (boyfriends) volley between a reference to himself or to a possible third person.
It’s obviously not always the case (and we have no way to verify), but Harry hardly ever writes in a way that’s on the nose, so following this pattern, personifying things like privacy and freedom by referring to them as the ‘love of his life’ fits into his pattern of layered writing.
❣️Based on the themes of the album (self-reflection):
“He’s been thinking a lot recently about autonomy, ownership, privacy. About what he should be able to keep to himself, what he should be able to simply communicate through his music without follow-up questions or prying.”

❣️Based on verb tenses:

Let’s assume, for the sake of this post, that it really is ‘were’ and not ‘are’. (I always hear ‘were’, myself, but I also don’t claim to have bionic hearing, so don’t take my word for it.)
Why would Harry write one line in past tense, and the rest of the lyrics in present?
There are two ways to read it. Either:
(i) the ‘love of his life’ (person) is no longer the love of his life, but is still currently present in his life, or
(ii) he’s speaking about the ‘love of his life’ (privacy/freedom) in a nostalgic way, as if it’s not consistently accessible/available to him in his current life, but rather something that comes and goes — that he’s only able to experience in small, finite increments.

— someone mentioned he has a childhood friend named Johnny (though I’m not sure how true), but if we read the line as his nostalgia for his life before fame and how that level of privacy/freedom isn’t accessible to him anymore, it makes sense

— three things to note here: (i) resistance to leaving ‘you’ (privacy/freedom) behind, (ii)‘flying’ as a reference to his fame and the interesting use of ‘land’ (when usually, the opposite of ‘fly’ is ‘fall’), so there’s a connotation of positivity, control and even relief, in the come down to earth (from fame), and (iii) the use of ‘but’ for the first time, signifying the acknowledgement of yearning and slight regret

— possibly a reference to how any knowledge of his location (by paps, by fans) is usually how his privacy/freedom is taken away from him

She is friends with a lot of the light and sound and makeup crew and would chat with them and she said that the director was just generally rude to everyone she thought below her. Lie that was the first thing that made me dislike wilde is that classist attitude (1/2

no but the fact that in keep driving Harry goes from exciting new experiences (camera, swimming pools, jumping off the roof) to domestic things (maple syrup, coffee, pancakes for two...) to international travel (passports, america) and "fame" (cocaine, side-boob) and he still constantly keeps checking in ("should we just keep driving"), acknowledges their struggles throughout the different phases of their lives/relationship ("held darkness, withheld clouds") and affirms his love ("I will always love you")
like yes, the metaphorical road/ journey of their relationship has changed and taken them new (unexpected) places and it may even be longer and harder and less smooth than they initially expected but they're still on this roadtrip together, driving in the same car.

For all the new larries who are experiencing an album release for the first time, and who are probably just now popping their stunt song cherries (pun intended) in real time, while I understand the anxiety, the one thing that always helped me was this:
Look at patterns, not at lyrics.
Harry has released three albums now, has been publicly single for one, and publicly “with” two different women for the others. Two women with two entirely different personalities, backgrounds, work, dating, and family lives, if the narratives are to be believed (the cool, flippant, slipper-gifting heartbreaker and the whirlwind yet super mature romance) and yet… the patterns, specifically in his love songs and songs about relationship trials are always, always, always the same.
Ask yourself why that is. Anyone who’s dated more than one person will tell you it’s near impossible to fall in love in the exact same way twice. Every new relationship will be characterized by its own giddiness, it’s own patterns, it’s own problems, it’s own resolutions, and yet, from Golden to Adore You to Sunflower to Late Night Talks the pattern is… exactly the same. Sweet Creature, Cherry, TBSL, Falling, Boyfriends… still the same. Bonus points: Defenceless, Always You, Habit… all the same.
You can change the lyrics, but you can’t deny the pattern, and that level of consistency, not only across albums but across Harry and Louis’ entire song portfolio can only be achieved if you’re talking about the same relationship.
Not saying stunt lyrics don’t fucking suck, just saying, looking at them across three albums makes it a lot easier to see what lyrics in Harry’s songs actually hold up over time. 💛

and I almost fell off my chair......how long do you think it might take for them to come out? Another 10 years?......I thought maybe around 2025 they would be out....but honestly IDK either now...bc nothing seems to get better....
I don’t think it has so much to do with things not getting better, as it may have to do with how the two of them see their careers progressing and how much they really want to the world to know everything about them. I mean, I don’t particularly see things as “getting better” in terms of there being more accountability and less homophobia/transphobia in the music industry, but I also think it’s possible that the two of them are not the same people as they were in 2014 at the height of the “big gay war” that was waging.
I don’t know what freedom looks like to Harry and Louis, but I do feel like there are a lot of people in this fandom who are just here for putting clues together and counting the days until there’s a big coming out, as if it’s a fic with a happy ending they want to finish. We need to be aware that everyone’s queer experience is different, and theirs is certainly far from ordinary… how they choose to navigate it and the timeline they’re working with is theirs.
