I am 24. I am sad, depressed, anxious, and grow stronger every day. I am temporarily our of work. I've gone through more in my first twenty three years than most people have in their entire life (sexual, physical, and emotional abuse). This blog has evolved to my only way of expressing my anxiety and thoughts out loud (as well as a few libertarian rants).

so theres this anti-semite, hitler loving girl who goes by evalion. people are defending her saying she has freedom of speech, which is true, but why do people always bring up that excuse when someone says something evil? also, isnt it weird how people didnt defend azalea banks when she said some disgusting stuff on twitter and got banned for it?

When things like this happen I am reminded of a quote from Jack McCoy on Law and Order: “I would like to see constitutional freedoms being used less as a shield for the guilty and more as a sword for the innocent”.

So yes, while I believe freedom of speech is important, it certainly is frustrating to see that it’s often touted by people who like to say idiotic things. Of course freedom of speech only means you can’t be imprisoned for what you say, not that everyone else has to listen to you and not call you an idiot.
