He was a ghoul who detested changed and treasured comfort. This event he was attending was complete change and filled with discomfort. So naturally, Nishiki was grouchy in a very juvenile manner of not getting his way.
Dances were not particularly his 'scene' if he were to even have one. Sure, he knew how to dance but it wasn't an activity he particularly enjoyed. When he was younger it was different when his mother would dance with him. While his sister tried to keep that memory alive after the passing of their parents, he went through his own form of puberty and wanted nothing to do with the annoyance of it.
Kimi had always been rather understanding that he didn't want to go out around their University spots to dance. If, for some reason, an event like that was being held at the school, she was understanding when Nishiki would regress the idea of the two attending.
Now, in the scheme of things, made perfect sense. He was immensely uncomfortable in his attire and this setting. Shit head after shit head passed by, and the thought of impending doom that this damned dance may never end crossed his mind frequently. It was an annoyance all in his self. His feet were sore from how little his dress shoes were broken in, he was beyond stuffy from the unfamiliarity the attire he sported felt on him. What the ghoul would give for his loafers, his slacks, and sweaters.
The mask might be the only tolerable thing of the night. Instead of this mysterious persona all the other masks held, Nishiki's had more of a dark vibe. The base black with gold trimming traced thinly along the mask. The pattern making the black base resemble a serpents skin. A mask that exploited his antisocial nature before his foul language could. Being approached by the female flourished in garments of ivory color that screamed 'innocent' caused the prodigy to lift a brow. What an interesting little shit.
Of course it was a typical mistaken identification but the ghoul had already become curious so he figured why not just let the ball roll.
"That is the first let down of your night and presumably you will have many others," Nishiki uttered pessimistically. He towered over the stranger practically. "Though I am impressed you are shooting for the original idea of a Masquerade Ball by playing 'Guess the Guest'."
