good question, they do seem to be authentically vintage, around the edge the hawkeye one says 1981 Twentieth Century Fox :)

what a lovely hiding place that you have made (part 6/10)
Summary: Hawkeye and BJ go to battalion aid after a shelling wipes out the surgeons already stationed there, and after nearly dying themselves, the two return to the 4077 with new scars of their own.
or, Hawkeye and BJ almost die together and become even more dependent on one another than anyone could have ever thought possible.
Excerpt:
Sidney watches Hawkeye search for an invisible pulse, and then when he finds it, Sidney watches Hawkeye lean over and dry heave.
Sherman and Margaret are standing somewhere behind him, likely staring at Hawkeye with the same shock and concern that Sidney feels himself.
They played their roles flawlessly, dropping books to mimic artillery, clinking glass together as a recreation of the bottles that must have rolled when discarded. Margaret went as far as dripping water from her fingertips into a coffee cup in an attempt to capture the dampness of the cave.
And, thanks to their efforts and Sidney's gentle suggestion, they all finally know what happened out there. In there. Between Hawk and BJ.
They understand.
i think my strongest mash opinion is that love and war is an amazing episode Because of how it showcases hawkeye's flaws. removing him from the context of camp and showing off his relative privilege and very Americanized ways of thinking is all very intentional. i have seen people say they dislike how he's portrayed in the episode and i just???? idk i Love when we get to see that side of him because it grounds him in reality, gives the hero an imperfect side to balance the episodes where he's practically saintlike, and just maybe gets the audience to think about what they take for granted. my favorite parts of the show are when they deal with the characters' relative comfort in comparison to their surroundings. the war gets brought to MASH, but they rarely live in the worst of it
you should be addicted to shutting the fuck up
You wanna fuck me so bad it makes you look stupid

Hello bisexual community
Begin killing
sorry, coming back to this for a second. watching this it struck me as odd that alan alda king of crying doesn’t even get teary-eyed and looks almost worried when saying goodbye while mike farrell is like full-on going at it and. i think the reading that makes the most sense to me is that they both realized bj is in love with hawkeye. bj realizes it and and can’t stop crying because oh my god i’m about to lose him and hawkeye is so preoccupied with trying to process what he just realized oh my god he loved me too that he can’t do much of anything else
