hello everyone!

i figure i should let everyone know that this blog will probably not be updated/checked in on very much until new shazam stuff starts releasing.

i just dont have the energy/inspiration to create much of anything for this blog, and i apologize for that. i may pop in every once in a while, but ive been swamped with school, life, and my other blogs.

Okay. I'm sorry I just have a few things I need to add.

- I was adopted at birth, so was my brother. As far as we know, we are not blood related.

- BUT we were raised AS SIBLINGS. I had a friend in middle school who would tell me I was lucky not to be "actually related" to my brother, which is the absolute biggest load of shit I have ever heard in my entire life.

- my brother is my favorite person in the planet. But he is my brother. He will never, ever, not be my brother.

THAT BEING SAID

- the dictionary definition of incest is "sexual relations between people classed as being too closely related to marry each other." Obviously not super specific.

- Freddy and Billy most certainly were not raised as siblings.

- I have only seen the movie, so I'm not sure if either Freddie or Billy were legally adopted by Rosa and Victor, but even if they were, laws marriage between adopted siblings depend on the state for the most part in the US, most specifically Colorado allowing leniency in regards to that particular issue. Obviously it would still be frowned upon.

- in conclusion, they're in love

- just kidding the real takeaway is that adopted siblings are 100% real siblings but family is what you make it and love is love and even Mary said that Freddy and Billy act like a married couple so it's not all that much of a stretch to speculate the nature of their relationship

- also the definition of love starts with Victor and Rosa

Shazam was my second fav movie of 2019, so I did a crappy redraw. And some chibis

REASONS

⭐ Kids as main characters, much more relatable than any adult superhero story I've seen/read

⭐ Fun and hilarious, very reminiscent of 90s movies I grew up with (vaguely reminded me of "Big") while still managing to kick me in the feels, in a good way

⭐ The importance of family. And the point it made that sometimes your biological family may abandon you, but that your true family doesn't have to be related by blood. I really, really loved this

⭐ NO HETEROSEXUAL LOVE STORY

Over all I really love this movie, it has it's flaws but over all I have almost nothing bad to say about it. They set it up for a sequel but I kinda hope they just leave it be. I've been meaning to do some fan art for a while. I lowkey ship Billy/Freddy, but in a wholesome way (...like most of my ships lmao) if you like IT and Eddie K you'll probably like this cuz Freddy is the same actor

Freddy has another name for them like the "Lightning League" or "Thunder Theme" or something (in keeping with the fact that Captain marvel in DC doesn't have a fixed name yet). And when he posts it on youtube, the internet dubs them as the Shazamily simply because they could be heard yelling "shazam!" at various points of their heroic shenanigans

Headcanon accepted!! I like the idea that the reason why they end up being called Shazams in universe is because they could be heard yelling it and out of all of the names they come up with, it’s the one that sticks. I wonder though how the crowd would distinguish them from each other? They could always refer to them by color (like the Green Shazam or the Blue Shazam) but then there would be the problem of Billy and Mary being both red.
