Hannibal being vulnerable in front of Will is my love language cause let's be honest the man has a shit ton of repressed trauma that not even someone like him can hide forever. So as a post-fall head canon i really believe they really learnt to trust each other again and to communicate better for fucks sake(it takes a long time but they really function as a relationship even though there are still red flags now and then) and Hannibal would start letting Will "see him" as he really is and maybe he would open up more about Mischa and what happened back then and confide in Will with a lot of stuff he hasn't thought about in ages.

And Will would listen. Hannibal would be resting his head on Will's lap and Will would listen.

Will brings out a lot of things in Hannibal that Hannibal never anticipated.

Hannibal has spent several decades thinking that he can lock certain things away in his memory palace, albeit with some things slipping through the cracks (referencing what he explained to Will about his memory palace and the halls not all being lovely and bright, and there being holes in the mind).

he was also, however, someone that was almost the living embodiment of control, before Will came into his life and he began to lose his grip on his self-control.

i feel like, given everything we know that Will already knows about him and how much Will is capable of digging out of him, Hannibal may very well end up finding himself venturing down those halls more often than he ever anticipated, because he is registering more and more that he has someone he can genuinely entrust with that. the two are conjoined, he can't exactly hide his trauma from the man.

what i'm more curious about is less whether or not this would happen, because i almost feel like it's a guarantee that it would to some extent, but more how Hannibal would react. would this intense level of vulnerability with things that have harmed him (as opposed to being open about the way he's harmed others) leave him feeling slightly nervous, or would he be sent back to memories of being that frightened child in the woods?
