the memeification of fascism is a proven method of perpetuating and instilling it in other people. I understand a lot of the criticisms for Misako come from the fact she wasn't written very well - because the early writers barely acknowledged women existed, much less respected them - and a lot of our later female characters, particularly the moms, are written with a little more care to them

But I love her. Genuinely. She's an archaeologist, passionate about the history of Ninjago. She knows Spinjitzu, she's the mother of the Green Ninja and the wife of the Dark Lord. THE DAUGHTER IN LAW TO THE FIRST SPINJITZU MASTER I KNOW THAT MAN WOULD HAVE LOVED HOW PASSIONATE SHE IS ABOUT HIS WORLD

Her potential as a character is sooo slept on, by audience and writers alike. The valid criticism of her leaving Lloyd has been acknowledged by the show, LITERALLY her first episode. She knew that Lloyd would have to face his father, and wanted to spare him that fate. When she couldn't, she dedicated her life to helping him instead

TLDR: I think Misako deserves more love than she gets

Also let's not forget how also the fandom gets weirdly misogynistic about her too.

The amount of times I've seen posts that vehemently hate her, not about her writing and having valid criticism for how the writers handled her, JUST her as a character.

You could be a flawed female character and the fandom will absolutely go rabid and mischaracterize you to hell and back and its really upsetting. Especially since I've seen no one really going into depth about her and give her the same love that a lot of other flawed characters have. Hell, HARUMI gets more love than misako. Which is crazy to me since Miasko has a lot of things to play around with *because* the writers neglected her and left a lot of things open to be expanded on more.

(Which honestly I would love to go more farther into depth about how fandom in general treats mother characters but this post isn't about that. Sorry op I went on a rant.)
