The Bubbly Drop
Knoll Umbra Habitare
The Knoll is a shadow creature that inhabits dark, enclosed spaces, mostly along the lines of chests or urns. They are fraught with frail nerves and flighty instincts, and have not an aggressive bone in their ectoplasmic bodies. The Knoll possesses two large forelimbs and legs of the same width and length, which it uses to run from danger such as treasure hunters. They are not naturally social, but they can recognize affection and can return it in kind. They are petrivorous, but this runs separate from their tendency to hoard Loot. They usually eat stone bricks, and use Loot to secure their homes. They possess two pincer-like arms far smaller than their forelimbs, used for more precise interactions. The Avenger Knoll subspecies inhabits suits of armor and is capable of combat, acting as a vigilante protector of Knollkind, but they tend to scare their fellow Knolls. Ice Knolls prefer colder climates and have natural light shielding in their eyes. Two odd subspecies of Knoll are the Mole Knoll and the Sea Knoll, which entirely disregard the hermit-like lifestyle of their more mainstream relatives, the Mole digging through soil and the Sea Knoll moving about the darker zones of oceans.
