i may occasionally reblog or post suggestive content, it will be filtered under suggestive & nsfw so block that tag if u don't wanna see anything of the sort! (minors please don't interact with my suggestive posts either ✌️)
I've been saying this for years. I got on LLM (large learning model) bandwagon years ago for research purposes. There is so much scientific data out there that if a program could help us get through it faster, we could really get somewhere. Anything that needs 4 or more variables assessed in tandem is so much faster with an LLM. Plus doing it as a human is super tedious and prone to errors. No one wants to do it or grad students are forced to do it alongside other responsibilities. So it would be great if an LLM could help.
LLMs learn one thing (and one thing only!) and can repeat the learned data in any way you require. Such as summaries and graphs. They can predict in the sense that after looking at 1000 items in a sequence they can guess what comes next. But the only accurate thing about them is them repeating data back at you in a condensed format.
Then ChatGPT comes out and I'm of course highly dubious of the term "AI". Lo and behold, any further reading on it reveals its just an LLM, same as any other supposed "AI" out there.
Again, LLMs do not produce something new. They repeat back what was given in the way you want. So "AI" scrapes the internet and just spews the main Google page at you but with a twist. The twist is the bad part because every extra instruction you give an LLM on how to repeat back to you, every bit more complicated it gets, the more likely it is to make mistakes. Programmers working with LLMs often have the program spit out the results of every individual step when this happens so they can fix it and move on. "AI" does not do this and people don't think to ask. People don't know to ask. They've been sold the idea that this machine thinks for itself.
It doesn't. It just echoes information from others in any way you like.
The more complicated the order (such as condensing a summary into a few paragraphs, or using a sassy tone, or explaining via pop culture analogies, etc), the more likely for things to go wrong. Because then it's trying to combine multiple learning models in one. An LLM trained on history can probably give good answers. An LLM trained on vocal tone might approach accurate sounds. An LLM trained on analogies will always make mistakes (because it would need a lot of data on each item its trying to compare). But a single LLM trying to do all three at once is going to encounter redundancies and contradictions, each request guiding it to a different outcome.
LLMs, "AI", are an echo. Echoes are just our own words bounced back. Echoes can be fun to play with. Echoes can be somewhat helpful in navigating the world when we analyze the way they bounce back.
Echoes are not another intelligent being. Echoes are not thinking. Echoes are not providing anything else that hasn't already been said before.
Please use LLMs to help make individualized cancer treatments and optimize power grids and accurately predict the weather. Please do not use "AI" for art or writing or war. Thats just the companies trying to get more use and money than the smaller user base they would naturally have.
You're not actually a better friend for not articulating and respecting your own needs, limits and boundaries. Your lack of communication and boundaries is not some impressive sacrifice. You're not doing anyone any favors by acting like you're okay with things you aren't okay with. You're just building burnout and resentment that will eventually damage the relationship in question. And when you eventually snap and walk away because you silently overburdened yourself to be a "good friend", it won't be the other persons fault
the sex binary is socially constructed and not actually descriptive of any biological truth. you know that, right? it's important to me that you know that
i know people can be a little overzealous in describing political backslides ("this used to be the feminism website!!!" etc.) but it's disturbing to me how much incredulity i've gotten from other trans people as of late just for, like, saying that "biological woman" is neither a real category nor a phrase that should ever leave your mouth uncritically
"Nobody “owes” anyone sex. We don’t lend and borrow sex like we lend and borrow money or our favorite sweaters. But plenty of people consider or engage in sex or certain sexual activities out of feelings of obligation or duty. Obligatory sex usually feels crappy and boring at best, and horrible, emotionally and physically, at worst, especially over time if it becomes a habit. When we’re really not interested in partnered sex at all and agree to it, it may even feel like rape. When our partner is doing their homework in their heads during sex rather than being fully present with us, or just saying yes to avoid an argument, it can feel pretty weird, and create some unhealthy patterns.
Maybe your partner performed oral sex for you, so you feel that – no matter what you want – you’re obliged to perform a similar or understood-to-be-equal activity. Your boyfriend or girlfriend is someone you feel you don’t deserve, or who is somehow above you, and sex seems like a good way to even the scales. Friends may push or pressure you to become sexually active or engage in sex for their own agendas. Perhaps your partner has had a level of previous sexual experience you feel you’ve got to live up to. Maybe it’s been a certain length of time at which point it seems sex should happen, by some arbitrary and invisible timeline, or it’s been a few weeks since you had sex, and even though you’re not in the mood, for whatever reason, you don’t want to leave your partner without sex from you.
If your partner performed oral sex for you, and they’re expecting something in return you aren’t interested in, then you can let them know you aren’t interested in whatever that is and fill them in on the things you ARE or may be interested in instead. If your boyfriend or girlfriend is someone you feel you don’t deserve, or who is somehow above you, then you deal with the esteem issues or relationship imbalances that are causing you to feel that way. If it’s been a certain length of time at which point it seems sex should happen, by some arbitrary and invisible timeline, then you can start talking to your partner about feeling that way, and discuss, between you, what both of your own individual timelines are and what you feel ready for and want. If it’s been a few weeks since you had sex, and you’re still not in the mood, start talking: look into why that might be, like relationship or sexual problems, stress, depression, low libido, or just not feeling up to sex at this point in time. You owe your partner communication and honesty, not sexual favors, and they owe you patience and understanding."
If there's sexual abuse subtext no there isn't, if there's allusion to sexual abuse you're ruining it for everyone else by talking about it, if there's a metaphor for sexual abuse you're reading too far into it and it's actually a metaphor for anything more palatable, and if there's on-screen sexual abuse? Well that's exploitative torture porn, of course.
good morning to horror fans, fat bitches, people with psychosis, they/thems, people who can’t drive, trans women, witches, and single dads. the rest of you... you’re on your own
Switching is the process of changing who controls your system's body, mind, or other central resources. A switch can be voluntary or involuntary, and controlling and managing switching is a learnable skill.
Switching isn't a universal plural experience, but when systems do switch, they might experience it in a variety of different ways. It doesn't always feel like "changing places"!
This chart can't cover all possible experiences of switching, but it does talk about some of the more common switching experiences that we've had.

Some (but not all!) systems experience switching. Switching is when the system member in control of your body changes.
There are a lot of different ways that switching can be experienced. It doesn't always feel like "changing places"!
Many nicknamed examples of switching experiences are given:
The light switch, which is the stereotypical idea of switching. One person is immediately and cleanly replaced by another.
The becoming, which is more of a gradient or slider than changing places. One person slowly shifts until they become someone else.
The "two hours later"- sometimes switching can take a long time.
The "when did that happen? Apparently we switched?", where someone has been in control for an extended period of time but only realizes much later.
The possession ("mine now!"), where one system member shoves another out of control to take it for themselves.
The trigger, where a trauma trigger causes one system member to freak out. This prompts someone less affected by that trigger to switch in to handle it.
The vacuum filler, where one person ditches front and someone else is pulled forward to take their place.
"Pikachu, I choose you!", where one system member pulls someone else into control.
The revolving door ("Hello! Goodbye! Hello!"), where system members rapidly trade control of your body in quick succession. If you experience amnesia between system members, then this can be pretty disorienting.
The ensoupening- sometimes, you switch and it's not really clear who you are anymore.
The "what the fuck? What were you even doing???" where you suddenly find yourself in a very unexpected, disorienting, or bizarre situation that you weren't entirely aware was happening a few seconds ago- for example, finding yourself sitting at a desk while your headphones play incredibly chaotic music that you wouldn't pick personally.
