Can you retell the time that you and Grounder got married?
âOf course I can! I remember it like it was yesterday~. Birdie swooned.
âWe actually got married twice. Once where he wore the tux, and I wore the dress, and then again where I got to wear the tux and he got to wear the dress! He was the most beautiful groom in all of Mobius, both times!â She gushed âWe actually had it all planned out ahead of time!â
âSure, it wasnât the most extravagant⊠but it was enough for what we needed it to be. We decided to skip the drama with Scratch and had Coconuts be our official witness instead. Iâm just glad that Scratch didnât attempt to steal the spotlight for once, but I think he knows I wouldâve had his beak crushed into a million pieces if he even dared to try anything on his brother and Iâs special day.â
âOur sweet baby, Mole, was our ring bearer, Breezie was my maid of honour, Scratch somehow got himself promoted to best man and even Robotnik himself took on a couple of roles in the wedding. The old man would never admit it, but he does have a bit of a soft spot.â
âMy sweet Grounder had such a hard time getting ready, he was practically sweating bullets, poor guy. He kept fudging up his tie. I was called in from the dressing room to come in and help him out because those other two imbeciles couldnât figure out how to work it either. I got him all sorted out though, and even took a flower from my bouquet and made a quick little boutonniĂšre out of it for him. We were so cute that day.â
âAs you can probably imagine, Breezie wasnât too happy with the boys. Sheâs a bit of a traditionalist that way. She argued that Grounder wasnât supposed to see me until the ceremony, but I was pretty unbothered. If anything, I just wanted to kiss the anxious look off his face, but we werenât allowed to do that until the ceremony either.â She rolled her eyes.
âI still remember our vows, and how both of us had to resist the urge to bawl like babies. At first we hugged, not just as partners or as husband and wife, but as longtime teammates. And then we kissedâŠâ
âThe preparation was the most chaotic part, as most things in Robotnikâs Base are, but the reception was absolutely gorgeous. We had a lovely time, even if I did end up having sore feet after Grounder had repeatedly ran them over during our first dance together.â She chuckled warmly âCoconuts kept having things to say at the podium, and we just let him talk. Grounder and I couldnât care less, we were married finally, thatâs all that mattered to us in the long run.â
âThe night had blurred into early morning hours when Grounder and I had finally managed to make our escape, heading to the roof for a shared bottle of wine and a conversation. The stars were beautiful that night, shining just for us. Iâll never forget what he said to me.â
