I just realized I don't have any intro post so I might as well create one

So I'm Romeo (not my real name), I speak English and french, my A03 account is : Mido_s ( I have a mha fanfic on the stove if u want to check that)

As u could have guessed I'm hugeee fan of mha (hence the Pfp) I'm also falling in love with gachiakuta at the moment, general anime enjoyer

Huge fan of silk song, hollow night, cult of the lamp (no spoil of silk song tho) but I have horrible gaming skills so don't even try

I'm trying to shift lately but umh yeah...

I'm also into : general med shows (Dr.house, New Amsterdam (❤️❤️❤️), the pitt, good doctor) I really like birds but have 0 knowledge of em (if u have any book recs I'll take them), I'm in love with anything bio related (not geology tho), théâtre and theatre (french theater and English musicals, only the basics one tho, Hamilton, heather, Ride of the cyclone)

And in music it changes A LOT but here's some of my fav artists : Radiohead, Adrianne Lenker/Big thief, McCafferty, Oakwood, Delta Sleep, Kodi Rihane, MSI, the front bottoms, Jeff Buckley and lots of bands in between them

Scrapped "LEAP OF FAITH" Erasermic comic I figured I should share here!

I haven't finished this yet, but I wanted to share it anyway

My concept was to visualize how I see and feel the connection within this trio

Hizashi, as a public figure, obviously has pre-programmed cliches that he plays on autopilot, selecting and switching out tapes. He plays them for others, but he doesn't really have a 'tape' of his own, or perhaps he just has no one to play it for. It’s too painful for him to rewatch his memories of Oboro, which is why the tape containing this crucial person stays with Aizawa

Aizawa is the steadfast keeper of that single tape, deeply bound by the weight of this memory. His capture scarf is almost always with him, essentially becoming the personification of that cloudy film reel. He accepted this as a part of himself a long time ago, turning the memory into his anchor and compass

Yamada himself would be too terrified to look back and play something like this on his own; it's vital for him to stay afloat due to his media presence and his anger issues. Shota serves as the perfect counterweight here, providing him with a grounding, stable presence.

Oboro is featured here as a silhouette, elusive and completely recognizable. He only comes into existence while the tape is rolling

For the memory to actually play, you need Hizashi’s cassette player and Aizawa’s tape—only then does the blurred image of their past come alive.

I’d love to flesh out this concept and draw more of it, but I don't have the capacity right now. If you like this idea or want to use it, please tag/credit me as the author 🙏

I wanted to ask what do you think of still lifes ? Especially their depiction of flowers ? And also do you like/imagine your art as still lifes or not really ?

I also wanted to ask if the flowers hold any significance in your art pieces or are you trying to focus on techniques more than symbolism ?

Finally your art made me think of "non traditional" bouquets which often take more bold choices on the color and also type of flowers and I think you may really like those like this :

To answer your questions. I think still life paintings of flowers usually reflect a big part of the artist's inner world. They way they choose their subjects, arrange them, they way they choose the lighting, etc, are very personal and unique. This is only my personal thought, but there could be a hint of the desire to preserve, to hold, to control. Flowers in still life painting become instruments, rather than just simply existences.

Out of many subjects, flowers are one of the truest expressions of nature's interpretation of beauty, what nature deems beautiful, a beauty as a mean for attraction, a beauty that signals life.

I usually draw from pictures that I've taken or from the memories of a flower. So my paintings can be called still life but also not. I also tend to choose flowers based on the current season, as a way to record the passage of time.
