My reading goal for this year is 20 books. In 2025, I read 14 which I didn’t feel great about until my brother was like that’s more than a book a month! 20 still doesn’t feel like much, but like everyone, I’m always short on time and the dyslexia adds just some extra sparkle ✨ but! I’m choosing to be optimistic and kind about 20– the important thing is just to be always reading even if I’m very slow at it, reading is the important part.

My other literary ‘resolution,’ I suppose, but I think of it just as a goal, is to memorize a poem every month with a general goal of 8 (leaving myself room to have crazy months).

Currently I’m reading Circe by Madeline Miller (and liking it!) and the poem I’m memorizing is Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas.

Since this is a generally writing focused blog, I might use it as a bit of book journal to keep myself honest. Always feel free to share what you’re reading! Ah! I love books!!
