“Mozu! Mozu, behind me!” Oh, Elise was so relieved to see a familiar face that she could hug her right this moment! But there would be time for happy reunions later. As Elise came running towards her, a bear-like monster was hot on her heels and gaining. When she heard Mozu from a distance and saw her, bow at the ready, Elise had an idea, one that she was sure would work if they did it together. She had her staff with her and she now raised it high into the air.
“Freeze!“ The bear roared as the spell bound him to the spot. Its limbs now heavy like lead, it struggled to take another step forward, but it wouldn’t be long before it broke free of its invisible binds. Yet these few seconds were enough to give them the opening they needed. Elise believed in her friend and cheered her on loudly. "Now Mozu!”
It was almost like fate was pulling all of this right out from her memories. The little noblewoman would have been plenty to remind her of home, but the creature chasing her made it all the more important to help her before asking how her day was. She’d have to put on a brave face - she was the only one who could help her!
The two of them were on the perfect wavelength; any bear (or in this case, bear-like creature) could be outsmarted with a good trap, and though this one was a bit more magical than she was used to, she knew not to waste the chance. Aiming for its torso or limbs would be a waste of arrows, since there was too much muscle. That left only the neck and head, and she’d have to make it quick!
[ SKILL: UNDERDOG ]
"Gotcha!” Aiming for its shoulders just as she had been taught so many years ago, her arrows sunk into its neck far enough to give it as close to a quick and humane death as possible. Even for monsters, she wouldn’t wish for it to suffer any longer than it had to. She didn’t even wait for it to hit the ground before she rushed over to the princess to check on her, ushering her out of the open with urgency that she’d have to apologise for later. “It didn’t get you too bad, did it, Lady Elise?”
Three weapons had been returned to her, and one was immediately discarded; in times like this, dragging that huge spear around wouldn’t do any good. Left with simply her bow and hunting knife, she found herself uncomfortably close to memories of times long past first in a home she could no longer return to, and to an eerily similar city faintly etched in her mind. Both times, she hadn’t found the courage to stand up. Today, however, words of allies new and old echoed in her mind, telling her to do what she was comfortable with to help.
Normally, that would be cooking. Today, as she let loose another arrow, she knew it was time to test herself without relying on Corrin with the skills she had nurtured and grown just as strong as any crop. Her knees still shook with the uncertainty of war, but a resolute fire in her eyes had been born. In this new world, she had the chance to show what she was made of.
She had to prove that she could be useful, to herself even if nobody else was watching.
Send 🌸 to put a flower crown on my muse! | (open!)
Even with all the mystery surrounding Nina’s behaviour, Mozu could easily say that she hadn’t expected her to have an interest in flowers. She’d always seemed like more of a material person, but then again, a lot of people from the Kingdoms had. When she’d come to her to get help making a crown of them - apparently something about understanding relationships better? - her inner child grinned wide, and instincts took over.
“There, easy as that,” she beamed as she finished her lesson, both girls holding up their final works. Nina’s was a little less sturdy but it was an accomplishment all the same! She was about to congratulate her when she leaned forward to drop it onto her head with a proud grin on her face.
“Aww, it was for me? You shoulda just said so from the start!” Despite the soft reprimand in her voice, the smile on her face showed that she definitely appreciated the gift. Something about it seemed to inspire Nina, who quickly got to work making another. Never one to back down from a challenge, Mozu got her own fingers working through the flowers to match her pace.
They were going to be there a while, weren’t they?
Send 🌸 to put a flower crown on my muse! | (open!)
She could barely keep up with the woman, zipping from place to place with more flower crowns than she could count! It wasn’t like she had much time to try and count them, especially now that they were beginning to pile up on top of her head, each one completing a bouquet with the white flowers already in her hair.
“Whoa, now, isn’t this too many for just me? Here, slow down a sec so I can give one to you!” Carefully untangling herself from the garden on her head, she reached up (very, very far up) to pass on the nicest one. “There. I promise I’ll take good care of the rest of ‘em, hehe.”
oh snap it’s time for another permanent starter call! liking this is permission for me to do the normal stuff from one of these:
write small starters
come to you with thread ideas
tag you in/send memes
pre-establish relationships
alongside that, this is a call for people to fill in some of her relationships, shown in the cut! let me know which you’d like in dms!
friends - it’s hard to not be her friend, actually! she can put up with strange behaviour (granted, she’ll call it out like she did with odin) if the person behind it is trustworthy enough.
family - many, many people see mozu like an adorable little sister, and while she appreciates their help, she can’t help but feel that certain people fawning over her is a little embarrassing. she considers the army like a second family, never replacing her first that she lost, and anyone in this role would be just the same.
nature - this girl’s a farmer, so she knows her way around agriculture. having a friend to plant things with a work with would absolutely brighten her day, provided they could find somewhere in the city to make a plot! otherwise, she’s also more than happy to share what she already knows about plants and animals.
cooking - with cooking so good that it impresses even the royal families, mozu is unabashedly proud of her skills with food. she’d love some help making meals, or even someone to just taste test! if you can make it worth her while, she’s also ready to teach her recipes to people.
hunting - before taking up a spear for the army, mozu used to hunt animals to keep her village fed, from boars to bears, using a bow or knives. she’d be very interested in learning about the stories of other hunters and their game, or the techniques of archers.
training/studying - always wanting to prove that she’s got the skill to keep up with corrin and the others, many people in the army have volunteered to train her. while results have varied a lot, someone with good experience with a spear could be an invaluable ally. additionally, her lack of a formal education means that she needs a good teacher to show her the facts about things other than farming.
romantic - mozu is only 14, so obviously this option is only open to characters around her age, but she’ll be the sweetest girlfriend you could ask for with a mix of all the above skills to devote entirely (read; show off) to her partner! she’s bi with a lean towards girls, though she’s only recently started to realise that she is. this one will rely on good chemistry between the characters, so we’ll have to discuss it ooc!
Whether or not the apartments were in working order, Mozu wouldn’t know any better, and nor would she be relying on it! A pump had been found nearby and though it’d be a bit of effort to clear up the water, it was the best thing that she could get as far as she knew. It wasn’t like the weight of the tub would be much trouble to her, either - she’d done this for years!
Not bumping into people and risking splashing them, however, was apparently another problem altogether.
“Whoa! Sorry, you okay?” Oh, now she’d done it! There was no way someone dressed this well wasn’t someone important!
There was a haunting feeling crawling along her spine, as if she could smell the sarcastic commentary from a mile away. That same old Cheshire grin flashed from the dark, only confirming who was responsible and sparking memories of months ago in a very similar city, albeit in a much better state of repair than this one. Not even her village was in ruins quite like this!
And she’d thought the last mysterious city was the worst thing that could happen...
“Zero... I don’t suppose you’ve got any better idea of what’s going on here, do you?”
"Corrin!” Without thinking, the little farmer had dropped everything to wrap up her friend in a hug. She was okay, even in a place like this! What a relief!
“Er, I mean--! Lady Corrin!” Almost as fast as it had started, she stopped the hug to step back and bow, her face growing redder all the while. Perhaps she hadn’t quite gotten the hang of noble culture just yet. “Sorry, that was awful rude of me, wasn’t it? I’m just glad you’re safe, is all!”
