I'm glad Stolas treated imps and hell hounds the way he does in canon. He's made some progress, he'll continue to make more, but I'm glad he acted and spoke the way he did, and that he was blind to it. If he was perfect and respectful toward "lesser demons" from the beginning, that would give big "chosen one, specialist boy, I'm not like the other Goetia because I'm special" vibes, which is more boring and unrealistic than "there's nothing extraordinarily special about him; he's still a Goetia raised in Goetian society and he has no reason to be that much different aside from his unique position of being abused and isolated from his peers". Of course he is unique in his personality, and his little play date with Blitz as a kid shapes things too, but those are small things in comparison that will/have built up with everything else to one day overcome the far larger pressure of "everything he's ever known, been taught, seen modeled by Goetian society".
Stolas genuinely thought he'd been perfectly respectable toward Blitz because not only has everyone he's ever known treated imps WAY worse than he does, but they also treated HIM very poorly. He has no basis of comparison on how to treat anyone with proper respect, let alone an imp.
But he's learning. He wasn't born special, he was picked out by circumstance and he chose to step up. That's the part that makes him the right guy for the narrative, that's what makes him "special", he CHOSE to do better. He wants to learn. Another Goetia, in his shoes, would have thrown Blitz under the bus, kept patronizing him, never given two fucks about any imp of their feelings.
Stolas is the demon we love despite the cruelty he was raised in, not because he is exempt from his social station.
It's like that "the hero that started off as a humble farm boy was actually a descendent from history's most special warrior" vs "the hero that started off as a humble farm boy actually was just like everyone else and just caved his own fate with his bare hands, everyone has the power to change" debate. Only in this case it's "the rich, privileged prince is beloved by the humble folk because he's just for some reason always been kind" vs "the rich, privileged prince is beloved by the humble folk because he grew as a person and gave a shit about the humble folks lives". And the "humble folk" in this case are I.M.P. specifically since every other imp in hell, at this point, are getting off on chucking rotten food at him.
Every time a Stolitz anti gets excited over the possibility of a Helluva Boss episode without Stolas in it only to have their hopes immediately dashed by the main character’s love interest obviously being important to the plot I can’t help but smile. I hope every single Helluva Boss episode from now on has Blitzo rawdogging Stolas on screen just so y’all can suffer. Maybe it’ll finally convince you to stop watching a show you clearly don’t like.

Yer I'm waiting for this to come back up with Via.
It was bad enough his kid noticed, and was worried enough to mention it to her mum. (Stolas is very good at hiding his negative emotions from Via).
And I can see Via and Blitz having a conversation about this in the future.
They both have issues with understanding how much they are loved by Stolas, and assume he must be fine with out them.
But they're his everything.
Bryce just said that the hardest song for him to sing is in s3 and I quote "I've never sung anything like this. This is not typically what I get asked to sing"
Now I wonder if Stolas is gonna sing a rap song with Blitz for a new duet xD
Did anyone else think the bird was gonna be Jinu in disguise? Like he could somehow shapeshift the way other demons could? No? Just me?
NOT MY ENEMIES TO LOVERS
GIVE THEM BACK TO MEEEEE 😭😭😭
I really love their "doomed demon couple" moment
anyways i just love the way kpop demon hunters stayed true to its roots in korean/asian culture, especially around the core theme of community vs individualism
the fact that it's not a single chosen one but a group of three
the fact that the honmoon is not powered by the hunters themselves but by the energy and love of the fans
the fact that gwi-ma turns people into demons by promising that he is the only one who can help them when he is in fact reliant on his army of demons to collect souls for him
the fact that "your idol" is about surrendering yourself to a single higher power while "golden" is about soaring to new heights together
the fact that gwi-ma preys on people's individual insecurities and shame to get inside their heads while rumi, mira, and zoey set them free in the end by encouraging them to embrace their differences and reminding them that they're not alone
the fact that you can see the audience cheering individually and even pushing into each other to get closer to the stage during "your idol"
while they're linking arms and cheering together and hugging during "what it feels like"
i have not seen the live action lilo and stitch but it feels like that movie sits on the opposite end of the spectrum from kpop demon hunters as a case study for how to tell a story in way that is culturally authentic and still resonates with a broader audience
and i think given that the core theme of the movie is all about community over individualism, the ending, particularly as it relates to rumi and jinu's budding romance, is really the perfect culmination of that broader theme
rumi and jinu's connection has all the hallmarks of that all-encompassing, all-consuming, borderline co-dependent first love where you keep your relationship a secret and sneak out of the house to meet up and feel like the other person is the ONLY person who really gets you
i'm the only one who can understand you, i'm the only one who will love you is the kind of thing that sounds romantic when you're 16 until you get older and realize how toxic it actually is and i love that the movie counters that in "what it sounds like" with rumi realizing that she had that love and support all along from her girls, and later, from the fans who continue to cheer them on through their comeback
it's about connection and sisterhood and love and sharing your fears and lifting each other up and becoming stronger and better together
and as compelling as i found rumi/jinu and as much as i would like to see their relationship explored more in a sequel/series, i just really love that this movie, which is clearly targeted at young women, ends on the message that romantic love is not the end all be all, that friendship is just as important if not more so than a romantic partner, that single women can lead successful, fulfilling lives, that true happiness and freedom start from within
it's crazy that this message still seems revolutionary in 2025 but given the current state of the world, it feels more necessary than ever
