@tumblr @staff @changes I am heartbroken and incredibly disappointed by the newest update. I hope that you look at the feedback from the community, because we are first and foremost a community, and this new update is fundamentally changing that aspect of this space.

I have personally cancelled my subscription to Tumblr, and I will be stepping back from using Tumblr as a platform as frequently for the foreseeable future. It makes me so sad to do this, but I cannot support the new changes that have been implemented, as both a member of fandom and a creative who already struggles with engagement and interaction as it is.

Please truly do read and take to heart the feedback coming from the community, we are doing this because of our love for this site, and we don’t want to have to leave but many of us feel as though we’ve been left with no choice.

The thump right outside the door of the closet you were hiding in nearly made you pass out. Picturing the abomination that was mere feet away didn't help matters. You likely would've slumped to the floor as your legs gave out if not for the man caging you in against the wall.

He had one of his legs pressed between both of yours, and one hand easily capturing both of your wrists and pining them to the wall above your head. He'd had to physically drag you in here when the monster started coming, while you'd fought desperately to try and continue stemming the blood flow from your colleague you could only now acknowledge had been beyond help.

You pressed the back of your head against the wall as you were forced to listen to the sickening sounds of the... thing feasting on what had once been another living, breathing human being. A human being who had been your friend. Tears streaked down your face, silent sobs wracking your body as you tried desperately not to heave.

The rough, calloused palm covering the lower half of your face was the only reason you hadn't alerted the monster outside to your current location.

"Shh."

The admonishment was so quiet, you never would've been able to hear it if not for the lips speaking it being pressed directly against your ear. His stubble was rough against the skin of your jaw as he pressed his whole body more firmly against yours.

There was a loud, wet crunch! from outside the closet, and you whimpered pathetically, trying and failing to not picture the parts of the human body could make those noises when they were being eaten by creatures straight from your worst nightmares.

His hand pressed tighter against your face, the span of his fingers stretching across the entirety of your jaw with an ease that in any other situation you'd find incredibly attractive.

"Stay. Quiet." He hissed in your ear, the weight of his body pressing even harder against yours, like that alone could keep you silent.

You were trying, you really were. You didn't want to get eaten, but your fight or flight had been triggered and your body was instinctively, desperately trying to flee.

The sickening sounds slowly died down outside, and you froze like a deer in headlights, listening to the slow shuffle-step as the monster seemed to be slowly moving away from your location. A part of your mind wondered hysterically if it was off searching for it's next meal.

It felt like you couldn't get enough air in your lungs, and your body began to squirm, unconsciously trying to release the pressure on your chest so you could finally try to gasp for a breath. But the man, the agent who'd dragged you in here and saved your life didn't allow you any room, keeping you pinned securely against the concrete.

You didn't realize just how big the man in front of you actually was, until you realized quite abruptly that your feet weren't flat on the floor. Rather, your toes were barely scraping the ground as he kept you perched on his thigh, controlling your every movement.

"Stop fucking moving," he growled, voice still pitched low, but not the whisper-quiet it had been before.

You tried to apologize, but the words were rather effectively muffled behind his hand. You couldn't seem to help yourself though, your legs moving as though they had a mind of their own.

He moved so quickly you didn't have a chance to process it. He somehow maneuvered himself so he was between your thighs, using the grip he had on your wrists to hoist you up so your hips were in line with his, legs dangling in the air. He pressed his hips hard against your own as he drew his head back to glare down at you through the darkness.

"Stop. It."

You stared up at him, eyes wide. The strength he showed off so casually was insane. He had full control over your body like this, and it was clear he wasn't letting you go anywhere until he'd deemed it safe.

Strands of dark hair fell across his face, and you couldn't stop yourself from taking in the details you hadn't been able to register earlier. He was clearly older, based on the crows feet lining his eyes and the grey peppering his stubble and hair.

But fuck if he wasn't one of the hottest men you'd ever seen.

"Do you wanna get fuckin' eaten?" He said, the question clearly rhetorical. You shook your head as best you could regardless, even as your mind flashed to a situation far different than the one he was clearly implying. One that took place in a bed, perhaps.

"Then do what I fucking tell you, little girl."

God fucking dammit, why was that so hot?

You could feel your cheeks heating up, though you prayed desperately that he couldn't feel it too.

You didn't know what the fuck was wrong with you, what wires were crossed in your brain, because god knows a normal person wouldn't be getting turned on when they'd just listened to their friend/coworker get fucking eaten like a five-star buffet.

He shifted again, stepping closer to better support your weight, and you were rather abruptly reminded of the fact that you were wearing that stupid pencil skirt you always wore when you had to look professional or some stupid shit.

The way he had you pressed up against the wall with your legs hitched up around his waist meant the fabric of your skirt was ruched up your thighs, leaving your panties pressed against the coarse fabric of his pants.

You sucked in a breath at the realization, hyper aware of the fact that you were, unfortunately, growing very turned on. When you saw the way his eyes glinted in the light, you knew it was impossible to hide that little fact from him.

A brief thought that he could read minds appeared, but you banished it, though not as quickly as you would've before today. If someone had asked if you'd believed in monsters yesterday, you would've laughed in their face. Maybe mind reading wasn't as unrealistic as you'd previously assumed.

A slow shift of his hips forced you to grind against him, and your eyes rolled back at the delicious friction.

There was a brush of hot breath against your cheek, before his voice rasped once more in your ear. "Can't believe you're getting off on this."

You whined at his words, logic telling you to deny it, deny him, while your body told you to beg him for more.

"Dirty fucking girl."

Shame flooded through you, before sharpening into pleasure as he purposefully rolled his hips, letting you feel the way he was growing harder beneath the canvas.

Your lips parted beneath his palm. Maybe you were going to try and defend yourself, or snap back that if you were a little girl, that made him a dirty old man, but he didn't let you get very far.

He released your wrists abruptly, hand immediately going to your waist and guiding your hips in a controlled grind against his own. Your fingers scrabbled for purchase against the leather of his jacket, arms aching from being held in that position for so long, even as muffled little gasps fell from your lips behind his hand.

"Gotta keep quiet," he murmured, voice dark and honey-thick. "Don't want them to find us, sweetheart."

He finally removed his hand from your face, though you didn't get long to appreciate it before you were biting your lip to keep quiet when his hand joined the other on your hip, fully controlling the pace.

The roll of his hips against yours was sinful, and you were woefully neglected in the intimacy department. A string of shitty boyfriends and increasing duties at work meant you'd had little to entertain yourself besides your own fingers. You'd almost forgotten how good it could feel to let someone else take control, though now you were remembering just how much you struggled with staying quiet.

He was rock-hard against you, and the friction only made it harder to stand. You were biting your lip so hard you were sure you could taste blood, and even still whines were spilling from your mouth.

"Shh," he whispered again, tone far more mocking than before. "Stupid little girl, can't even follow basic directions."

His words snapped that last thread of restraint inside you, and you buried your fingers in his hair and roughly yanked his lips down to yours.

He smirked into the kiss, like this was the exact conclusion he'd been aiming for all along. In any other situation you'd like to smack that smug look off his face, but you were beyond that, now.

He kissed the way he moved, demanding and cocksure. Unfortunately, he had the skill to back it up. He had you breathless and panting against him in what felt like seconds. He coaxed your lips open and plunged his tongue between your lips. You whined, the taste of whiskey and bad decisions making your head spin. It wasn't a sweet or gentle kiss, no. He kissed you like he was laying a claim, like he could make you forget everyone else you'd ever let touch you like this.

Honestly, he probably could.

You managed to break away to gasp for air, but he wasn't about to let you get very far. He claimed your lips again and again, rough and possessive in the most delicious way.

That dread and terror in your belly had quickly turned to molten heat, coiling tighter and tighter as he seemed to instinctively know your every desire. The nerves of your skin are alight with sensation. You're so sensitive everywhere, so utterly spent that you cannot possible offer any more.

But your god knows you better than you know yourself, for he's suddenly above you on the altar, leaning down over you, caging you in his embrace.

Your vision is hazy, your forehead beaded with sweat. You're utterly spent, you're sure. And yet, something inside you will not allow you to lie, not to him. Not here.

"Whatever my god offers," you manage to whisper, voice hoarse. "I accept."

His grin is sharp and triumphant.

"Your obeisance is treasured, precious one." His voice is a rough purr, the ultimate predator. "You are mine. You have given me so much, so I give in return."

There is heavy pause, the air itself seeming to hold still.

"When I hold this form, my priest and I become one. As a god, I am nameless. Thus, I give you the name of my most devoted follower. When I take you like this, you will call me by his name."

The words were never spoken aloud, but the name seared itself into your mind like a brand, one you'd never be able to forget for as long as you live.

You whispered his name so quietly, you weren't sure you had even spoken.

"John."

The kiss he pressed against your lips was viciously pleased. It was mere moments before he had your leg up around his hip and he was slowly sinking into your waiting heat.

You'd never partaken in carnal pleasures of the flesh, but you were quite sure that there was no man on earth who could possibly compare in regards to his size.

His breath was hot against your lips as he let out a string of curses once his hips pressed flush to yours. You didn't recognize the language, but all thought very rapidly left as he rolled his hips, again and again.

Your lips parted in a breathless gasp, not expecting the way it felt to have him seated so deeply inside you. He filled you so completely, satiating an aching sensation you hadn't been aware of until it was finally gone.

"Do you feel how well you take me?" The hunger in his voice was palpable. "Feel the way that I fit just so inside you. You're utterly perfect."

There were tears streaming down your cheeks as you choked on the primal ecstasy of it. You could barely breathe through the unceasing pleasure.

You'd thought yourself long spent, that you'd given all you had the capacity to give. But John continued to pull more from you, with every roll of his hips, sending you spiraling towards insanity.

It felt like mere seconds before he had you shattering to pieces once more, this time your core clenching down in desperate waves agains the thick length of him.

And yet, he did not cease the relentless roll of his hips. No, he continued to drive you higher and higher, one rough and calloused hand thumbing at the overly sensitive bundle of nerves.

Your scream of his name reverberated through the air of this holy and sacred place, and the deep growl of his praise told you that it was far from the last time you'd scream his name tonight.

Is it time for a change?

What's up, friends? Happy new year, I hope y'all are still hanging in there?

So, this isn't exactly a 'new year, new me' post, but... it maybe is?? Here's what I mean:

As I approach my final semester of college(!!!), I'm taking the first steps to prepare my final presentation to receive my creative writing degree. This is how I hope to complete my first manuscript, announce my debut, and go forth and get my novel published (to put a complicated plan into the simplest steps possible XD). To do this, I hope to get a head start now on marketing and building my brand on Instagram, Bluesky, etc, but to do that I need to settle on a pen name.

Now, I already have a pen name, and that's Ella Noble. I've gone by Ella online for as long as I've been active on Tumblr, and y'all have only ever known me as Ella. I truly love this pseudonym and have plenty of fond associations with it thanks to you guys. However, I'm wondering now if I should go in a different direction.

In case I never made it clear, Ella is not my real name, although it is a loosely-derived nickname of my real name. I've never actually gone by a nickname IRL, although I do have one that was given to me by my grandfather. To keep the story short, when my mom was pregnant with me and told the extended family what she intended to name me, my grandpa (who learned to speak Russian after joining the army) told her that he was going to call me 'Mischa.' My grandma's theory was that this was his sneaky way of having me named after him, since his name was Michael.

No one ever actually called me Mischa once I was born, but I still love this story. Mischa could conceivably be another nickname for my real name, just like Ella, and I think both names are beautiful. And while I've been perfectly content going by Ella all these years, recently I've been considering a change. My grandpa passed away from cancer a couple of summers ago, and since he never got to read any of my adult writing, I've been seriously thinking of taking up the name Mischa for the first time in his honor.

OKAY, so now you have all the lore. Now, here's my question!
