omg why do white ppl love cheese so mu-
I actually didnt know that
The answer is apparently âbecause weâre actually able to eat itâ
Fun fact: white people (specifically Northern European white people) have a genetic mutation that allows them to digest lactose even after weaning, which is abnormal for all mammals and also most humans. Itâs theorized that because Northern Europe doesnât get a lot of sun, an alternative source of vitamin D (like milk) would be a useful trait. Itâs a very recent mutation that would only have happened after humans started domesticating animals like cows and goats.
Basically every trait is a genetic mutation in some way, but one thing thatâs interesting is that lactase persistence (the ability to digest lactose into adulthood) is commonly seen in certain nomadic populations throughout Africa and the Middle East, for which animal husbandry has long been the way of life. However, the responsible mutations for these populations are entirely different from the European mutation! Convergent evolution!
Iâm not sure what the point about vitamin D is. Iâve never heard that, and it doesnât make sense - vitamin D is added to milk artificially and does not naturally occur in milk to any significant degree, from what I understand. A nomadic population would be a lot more secure if it could get calories from drinking the milk of a camel rather than slaughtering their mounts for meat.
those of northern european-descent do have an adaptation that lets us get more vitamin d: itâs called being white. hunter-gatherers ate enough meat that they got enough vitamin d even in darker climates, even with dark sun-blocking skin. farmers have comparatively shitty, lacking diets, so the theory goes that itâs advantageous for them to have paler skins, to fix more vitamin d from the sun, and this is more and more advantageous the darker the climate you farm in. sunburn and skin cancer isnât all that much of a problem in like, wales, but vitamin deficiency sure is.Â
digesting milk sugars as adults was also very probably an adaptation by herdsmen that was carried into europe by nomads and trade routes, then propagated into the sedentary farming population because, again, it cannot be overstated how fucking crappy it is to be a farmer. any adaptation that let them get more food for less work would have been an enormous advantage.Â

Heterosexual: Fuck that.
Homosexual: Fuck this.
Bisexual: Fuck you and also you.
Pansexual: Fuck everything.
Demisexual: Fuck you in particular.
Asexual: Fuck no.

As you walk along the Thames pondering what Brexit will mean for you and your family, a soaking wet woman walks up a set of stairs from the river, hands you a package and tells you âSort it out, please!â before vanishing around a corner. You open the package to find Excalibur.
Hahahaha, hoooooly shit this is a great prompt.
Listen, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords are STILL not a good basis for a system of government. It doesnât change if sheâs lying in a river!
Look, with our leadership right now, it couldnât make things any worse.
Oh, but you canât expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.
Indeed, if I went around saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, theyâd put me away.
It was kinda tedious to find casual refs, so I made a ref sheet. Feel free to use!

Bugs trump Grass because thatâs their environment.
Confused about why Bug-Moves are super effective against Psychic.
Bug, ghost, dark are strong against psychic because they are common fears/phobias ! (Yknow because PsychicâŚ.brains and all)
Still donât get why Ghost beats Ghost.
