About Me:

I am an inclusive transfeminist, meaning my transfeminism is for all trans and trans-adjacent people including binary trans women and men, all nonbinary and gender diverse folks, intersex people, and gender nonconforming individuals whether cis or trans. I don't believe in cultural feminism/radical feminism in any form and am against reinforcement of sexist, binarist and essentialist attitudes about sex and gender as I believe they're inherently anti-feminist, and often also colonialist, fascist, and white supremacist in nature.

Sociology (gender studies) grad student but taking a break for mental health reasons.

I'm in happy, loving, and somewhat stereotypical poly relationship with my lovely cis lesbian fiancee and my handsome transmasc boyfriend.

I believe in bisexual liberation from a monosexist society and if you hate bisexual women or have weird, bigoted beliefs about bisexuality, this is absolutely not the blog for you. I'm a bi woman, what are you even doing here?

I don't tolerate transmisogyny, transphobia (no anti-transmasc, anti-butch or anti-drag sentiments either), people accusing me of internalized transmisogyny when I disagree with them, biphobia/bimisogyny, or bad faith arguments and I will block anyone who makes me uncomfortable. No JAQing off here. I'm also anti-gen AI for many reasons. I'm not interested in debates with people who are unwilling to educate themselves or have obvious hidden agendas.

I am once again begging Tumblr users to learn how to spot misinformation, disinformation, sockpuppets, psyops, "alternative facts", trolls, ragebait, et cetera.

Stop engaging with those accounts. They are not who they say they are. They are not representative of the communities they claim to represent.

I'm going to sound like an old lady but "don't feed the trolls" used to be a common internet mantra and now everything is drama slop and he said she said they said about topics with red flags you can spot from a mile away.

I see a post that's beyond inflammatory and it's from an account with a blatant agenda that you can put together from two or three posts and yet there's people taking them seriously and acting as though they are exactly who they claim to be and that mean every word they say.

To be clear, I'm not talking about people who have a marginalized identity and weaponize it against other marginalized people or those who have genuine bigoted viewpoints alongside being part of a marginalized group. I'm talking about the fact that I can see an account posting what has to be the most intentional, obvious inflammatory bait and then see thirty people immediately typing some variation of, "So this is what (demographic the account has identified with on purpose to lower the general perceived opinion of said demographic) think of (my demographic)!" And half of them have their own bigoted agenda behind it and the other half are just fucking gullible.

Use the damn block button and think for a moment about why it would be advantageous for bigots in an anonymous setting to pretend to be members of a group they hate and say or do inflammatory things in order to stoke more hate towards that group.

The negative consequences of offloading cognitive tasks to AI is itself a consequence of overworking and undereducating people so they have little energy to learn new skills and information and haven’t been given the tools to properly assess what is or isn’t accurate information.

I’m not saying that’s a good thing but it’s not as if AI invented the incentive to have someone else do their thinking and decision making.

Far more disturbing is that businesses and governments are abdicating decision making responsibility to AI. “Predictive policing,” autofiltering resumes, military target acquisition. Then everyone washes their hands and says “the machine made the decision,” no you input the parameters and accepted it’s conclusion and then acted! That was you!

no, not every trans woman has rape accusations made against her. being accused of rape is not some "rite of passage" for every trans woman. and it should not be presented, treated or normalized as such.

even when talking about a marginalized community that's more at risk of false accusations. depending on the size of a community within the larger marginalized demographic, a few people being falsely accused maybe wouldn't be that surprising or impossible. but if everyone in your little community/friendgroup has such allegations? then there is something clearly wrong with your community.

you've seen the jokes. india is "dirty", indians are "everywhere", why don't they fix their own country. ok. let me tell you why, and what's happening right now while nobody's watching.

first, the history you skipped: britain ruled india for two centuries and drained it. economist utsa patnaik's research estimates around $45 trillion in today's money was taken. the india that got independence in 1947 was one of the poorest countries on earth. every "why is india like this" question starts there. you don't get to profit off a robbery and then mock the crime scene.

now, what's happening RIGHT NOW:

in may the question paper for NEET leaked. that's the national medical entrance exam. over 2.2 million students took it. cancelled. years of studying, families' savings poured into coaching, gone overnight because someone sold the paper. students died by suicide after. these were kids who wanted to be doctors.

and out of that came a protest movement. a gen z group called the cockroach janta party, started by a 30 year old named abhijeet dipke, got 22 million instagram followers within DAYS. they've been doing a sit-in at jantar mantar in delhi demanding education minister dharmendra pradhan resign.

and then there's sonam wangchuk. if you've watched 3 idiots, he's the real engineer the character was based on. built solar schools in ladakh. invented ice stupas so himalayan villages have water. spent his whole life on education. he's 59 and he's been on hunger strike for 17+ days now. reporters went to see him this week and he was too weak to talk. and the troll armies are calling him "anti national" and "foreign funded". a man starving himself for other people's children. that's the thing here, anyone who asks a question is suddenly a traitor.

it's not one incident, it's everywhere you look:

• infrastructure worth thousands of crores failing within months of the ribbon cutting. tunnels collapsing in regions where heavy rain is a guarantee, not a surprise.

• youth unemployment near 10% for ages 15 to 29, 13.6% in cities. in a country of 1.42 billion where more than half the population is young.

• only about the top 3% of indians earn above 10 lakh a year. meanwhile billionaire wealth keeps ballooning and the headlines celebrate it.

• manipur burned for over two years. an ethnic conflict, tens of thousands displaced, and the prime minister barely said the word manipur while it happened.

• journalists raided. critics' houses bulldozed. activists sitting in jail for years without trial under laws like UAPA. our press freedom ranking has cratered.

• even the petrol is a fight now, ethanol blending pushed through while drivers complain about their engines and get no straight answers.

and through all of it, the PM, who came to power on religious polarisation (americans, sound familiar?), travels abroad for photo ops and has not held one single open press conference in over a decade. not one.

what i'm asking:

if you're not indian: share this. our media mostly won't cover any of it because the big outlets are owned by the same billionaires the government serves. the only reason wangchuk's fast is getting any coverage is people refusing to look away.

if you ARE indian: speak up even if you're comfortable. especially if you're comfortable. join the protests. add to this, correct me, translate it. staying quiet is a choice when nothing in this post touches your life.

india is not "dirty". india was robbed, and it's being robbed again, from the inside this time. but it's also the country where a 59 year old will starve for strangers' kids and 22 million young people will rally behind a party literally named after cockroaches, because cockroaches survive everything.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af

i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience
