In the Bible, Saint Martha is best known for being the sister of Lazarus, of returning-from-the-dead fame. However, according to a French folk tale, she later visited Provence in the south of France and tamed a ferocious dragon-like beast called the Tarasque, which had been terrorizing nearby villages and eating the locals. This event is still celebrated with an annual parade in Tarascon on the last weekend in June, featuring a float shaped like the Tarasque.

There’s a tradition in art of depicting the Tarasque caught mid-munch by Martha, with a pair of legs hanging out of its mouth and a very contrite expression on its face, like a puppy who’s been found eating your socks. Here are a few of my favourite Tarasque-shaming pictures.

if u struggle with eating like i do (mines because of executive dysfunction, energy levels, and sensory issues) i highly recommend this very simple hack: make ur meals feel like snacks.

eating 2 boiled eggs, some carrots, and an apple does not feel like a meal but its full of great protein, fibers, and healthy carbs. boiled eggs in general are my go-to when im having a hard time with food. another recommendation i have is to get drinks like Boost drinks and have them with ur meals. its a very quick and easy way to get extra vitamins n minerals and general nutrients and on especially hard days theyre a godsend when theyre the only thing i can get in my system

in general, dont be afraid to deconstruct ur meals and eat them in separate parts so it feels more like a snack. its really useful and requires a lot less effort than putting everything together
