and now for something completely different!
been a while. i have no lyrics or quotes for you, but here, have some darth vader! because this is what i worked on today instead of my actual work.
because sometimes you just need to make some art of vader in space.
"May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks. May your heart be as light as a song. May each day bring you bright, happy hours. That stay with you all the year long."
happy st. patrick's day!
you came to take us all things go, all things go to recreate us all things grow, all things grow
sufjan is long overdue on this blog. from the song "chicago" off of "illinois," or "sufjan stevens invites you to: come on feel the illinoise."
"the trap i set for you seems to have caught my leg instead." - "in a sweater poorly knit," mewithoutyou from 'brother, sister.'
more swirls. more mewithoutyou because it's been a while.
"shine on in and give these dead bones life."
the david crowder band came out with their final cd, "Give Us Rest or (A Requiem Mass in C [The Happiest of All Keys])." it's a work of art. seriously. two discs, 34 tracks....a fantastic way to go out.
this is from the opener, "Oh Great God, Give Us Rest."
i'm terrible at keeping up with this - too many other things to do! i love this time of year, but sweet moses is it busy.
i was making something today at work with this similar artwork and got inspired to turn it into this.
"just for tonight..."
'tis the season!
i'm working on my final portfolio for my graphic design degree. i needed a third piece to go with my switchfoot "vice verses" pieces. so this is a companion for "restless" and "dark horses."
"allah, allah, allah" by mewithoutyou from 'it's all crazy! it's all false! it's all a dream! it's alright!'
my inner grammar nazi struggled with saying "alright," but since that's the album name too.... just know that i cringed a little doing it.
"a glass can only spill what it contains." again from mewithoutyou's "brother, sister."
warning: i'll probably be doing mewithoutyou pieces for a bit. i'm just in that kind of mood.
this is one of my favorite songs of theirs, also off "brother, sister."
hey look, something that's not switchfoot or mumford!
a little mewithoutyou on this fine day.
from "messes of men" off their "brother, sister" album.
from "winter winds" by mumford & sons.
one of these days i might do lyric pieces that aren't mumford & sons or switchfoot....but it is not this day.
continuing with the mumford and sons "sigh no more" pieces, because i can't get the song out of my head, it's 2:30 in the morning, and i can't sleep.
"sigh no more" by mumford & sons.
