MATT BOMER 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards (January 7, 2024)
this is what makes us girls
Convincing Peter that he needed to travel to Ohio had taken a great deal. It meant revealing more about his past than he really wanted to. In the end, he agreed. On the condition that he go along to babysit. Neal hated the idea. He hated anyone knowing all the things he worked so hard to keep hidden. But he trusted Peter more than many people outside the tight circle he worked to maintain.
Now, here he was, in the formal sitting room in his childhood home. His mother bellowing at the help. Just like old times. At least the twins were in school, keeping them out of this mess for now.
"Looks to me like you're just making the same mistakes all over again. Except this time, you might end up burying one of your grandkids."
Not just school. But practice. Choir for Blaine and ballet for Sierra. Things that not only grew their talents but taught them discipline. Commitment. Traits one needed to be a successful, contributing member of society.
And if it gave her and Samuel bragging rights at the club...well, all the better. Better to discuss Blaine's latest solo or Sierra's upcoming recital than the spectacles they continued to make of themselves. His flaunting of his...otherness. Her tantrums.
And now her eldest...her once bright shining light turned common criminal sits there judging her??? Judging his father??? Oh no. No no no.
"Forgive me for being blunt, but even if that were to be the case, I'd at least know where they were. Which is more than I can say for you both as our son and their father. You left. You gave us custody and you walked out that door. And yes. You visited. Spent holidays here....right up until you disappeared from the face of this Earth. And how do I find out what happened to you? Your father receives a call from the FBI. So not only were you galivanting about the globe but you were committing federal crimes. Is that really what you think the two of them should be learning??? What happened while you were away was tragic, yes. Of course it was. But you know how Sierra can be. How she's always been and Blaine...we told him not to go to that dance. Begged him. And yet..."
@astrancva is getting a starter from my guest muse cause well angst...
With a dismissive shake of her head, Eleanor turned from her oldest child back towards the kitchen, calling for the housekeeper. Honestly, they just got lazier and lazier. When she offered someone (even one of her children) tea and/or coffee, she expected it to be presented to them shortly after...was that too much to ask?
"I certainly see now where she gets her...dramatics...from. Sitting here acting like your father and I did something wrong in raising those children so that they won't repeat your mistakes..." Like getting his high school girlfriend pregnant. Or ending up in a federal prison.
// I may, for the purposes of angst and having VERY dramatic scenes with Froggeh, allow Eleanor to be a guest muse on this blog from time to time.
// So according to the internet, both White Collar and Glee premiered in 2009 -- Glee in May (special episode -- the rest began in Sept) and then White Collar in October.
Blaine was first introduced in the second season, which would have been 2010...
If Neal was in prison for 4 years prior to the start of White Collar, that mean he was in prison for both Sierra's suicide attempt and Blaine's attack. Which would explain why he did not just march in and re-claim the twins following one or both of those.

To dance is to create a sculpture that is only visible for a moment.
(requested by anonymous)
// The bestie is re-watching White Collar. This is very dangerous where Sierra is concerned.
// A friend is visiting from Manchester and we have decided to start the Glee re-watch together. Something that will most assuredly reawaken my muse for Sierra.

No need to rush everybody gets our autographs âHell of a ride!â will be the words on our epitaphs Two livinâ legends thatâs what we will be And thatâs okay with me
warblerxcaptainâ:
Hunter felt himself tense at her words, his past being something of a soft spot. It wasnât something that he was willing to share, not something he was supposed to talk about. His shoulders went back as he moved into his next sentence. âWhy I left is no oneâs business.â He shot back quickly, feeling phantom pain in his back as he thought back to what had brought him here.
âIâm sure you do, but there is after practice for socializing. Not when we are supposed to be preparing for Sectionals.â Hunter shook his head as he looked over at her.
âIsnât it? You seem to care a lot about why people left Dalton; doesnât your team deserve to know what brought you to them?â She went back to perching -- this time of the table, her hand absently going for the gavel. And old habit. And once that used to drive Wes crazy. Of course, this wasnât the same gavel the former head had used. That had been retired upon his graduation. But it was a gavel all the same and she turned it about in her hands as she listened to Hunter speak.
âFair enough.â She wasnât here to antagonize him, after all. At least not anymore than he was antagonizing her. âNext time Iâll make sure to arrive after practice.â
warblerxcaptainâ:
âIâm sure they have good intentions.â He shrugged as he leaned further into the doorframe. âBut if itâs that pitchy I will not be taking a night off and will preform even if Iâm dying. I wouldnât pay $1 to hear him sing let alone the cost of a Broadway ticket.â Sure he may be exaggerating, but Hunter worked hard to bring Clyde to life and he wasnât going to stand by and watch someone else ruin the character.Â
âWell, it would certainly lend some credibility to those final scenes...you dying right there in front of everyone. However, I would kind of prefer you didnât...as then Iâd be stuck with your understudy every night. And I, even more than the paying audiences, could not take that.â She couldnât. It would be a disaster. âI feel quite fortunate to have Marls as my understudy. I may just have to send her like a muffin basket for not sucking.â
