Blair + Celia Potter: “your feet are cold.”
The Potter girls had traded in their small three room apartment for a house where they each had two rooms of their own, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a library, four and a half baths, and extra two sunrooms. There was so much space here, Celia wondered if they might all slowly go insane.
If the quiet didn’t get to them first.
She’d left on her iPod and the light from her hanging lights gave the room a warm glow, but it was still too dark and it was still too quiet. She couldn’t sleep. She got her laptop.
Someone was at her door, fumbling with the old knob, and the next moment Blair was in her room. “There’s too much space in my room,” She said, “I’m sleeping in here.” It wasn’t a question.
Celia moved over and Blair climbed into bed next to her.
“Your feet are cold,” Blair said, throwing another blanket on the bed, “I don’t think you are supposed to sleep out on the sleeping porch in the middle of winter.” She grumbled.
“Shut up, I like it.”
Blair propped herself up on her shoulder and peered over to Celia’s laptop. “What are you doing?” She asked.
Celia shrugged, “Hacking Adam’s computer. Mainly just sending his google incognito history to everyone in his email. It’s mostly porn — but like hardcore american psycho shit.”
Blair raised an eyebrow, “You’re making my handiwork with his car look like child’s play.”
“It was,” Celia teased.
It was fun, messing with Adam even when they were three thousand miles away, but more than anything else, Celia wanted to make sure that he never got within ten feet of another woman again.
But even more importantly, she wanted to make sure Beth was never hurt again. The Potters were all starting new lives here, and Celia (and Blair and Tess) were all determined that Beth ‘s, at least, would be better.
