It hadn’t gone well. They’d both left angry and shocked, determined never to go back. Jack had tried to warn her about his parents, but words had never been his strong suite and Rachel hadn’t been prepared. Judging from his reaction, however, Jack hadn’t been either.

“Rach, I didn’t — I mean, I never would have — “ Jack began, fumbling for the right words.  

“I know, Jack. I know,” She said, softly, “I just can’t believe they’d say that. How could they?” 

Rachel and Jack had come to tell them that they were going to have a baby, and they’d asked them if there was time to get rid of it.

Jack took her hands in his, “You, me, and our kid: that’s all that matters.” His eyes flickered up to meet her’s. “I don’t care about them. I love you. I love you.” 

This wasn’t the first time a guy had told her that they loved her, but it was the first time she’d believed them. The first time she’d truly believed it. She always let herself, because she’d wanted it to be true. Babe, I love you, and I’ll never do it again. Their words were empty promises, a temporary balm to heal her wounds until they hurt her again. 

But this was different. Jack’s eyes were soft, honest. He’d said the words and she knew he meant them. 

She wrapped her arms tightly around him, burying her head in his chest. “I love you, too. I love you more than anything.”

lunch date / rosie + rachel

Rachel always knew that Rosie would do something that would help people. She was a caretaker: she had been from the moment that Rachel met her. She’d been forced into that position, as much as Meg had, but she took to it as quickly as if she’d been doing it all along. While Rachel had envisioned Rosie doing something slightly more mainstream than this, she couldn’t deny that she was giving these people comfort. They seemed to find a strange reassurance in knowing, even if the news wasn’t what they had wanted to hear.

But Rachel, herself, didn’t want to know. She didn’t think that Rosie could tell her for certain what lay ahead for her, but there were some things she’d still want to hope for. 

When the last customer had left for the afternoon, Rachel walked back to where Rosie met her patrons. “C’mon, kiddo. I’m taking you to lunch.”

Summers were slower for Rachel than the rest of year, but three months had come and gone and she’d realized today, as she was picking up last minute things for school, that her break had come and gone without seeing much of the Holland girls. Meg had taken Pippa into the city to the zoo and if Rachel was going to have a free afternoon to spend with Rosie, this was it. 

“So, hey, so Pippa has started this new thing where she starts giggling whenever I pull out my keys and when I asked her what was so funny, she tried to explain it to me, but I didn’t understand what half of it had to do with keys in the first place and then she just gave me the “try to keep up, mom” face -- which she really has down well already, which is kind of making me nervous for those teenage years,” She said, teasingly.

Yasssssss!  Ok, so this whole thing, his work, his life, everything, is basically just one huge power trip for Alek (yay) and Jack has officially been marked.  Alek looooves toying with his victims and this actually accomplishes quite a few things for him.

gets to show jack what he knows

gets the potential to take something that’s jack’s (rachel) from him

So that’s all a lot of fun.  I think he’s also ngl kinda curious about what all the fuss is over with regard to Rachel and this kid????  like????? why??????  But yeah ngl this is primarily motivated by Jack and by the fact that 1) he nearly killed him but didn’t 2) he def intends to kill him in the future (even if Elias doesn’t necessarily want him to but that’s def down the road).  He wants to bring Jack to his lowest first though #yay

But yeah, he’s def gonna tell her he’s a Denmark cousin of the Turners and he’d def try to get a feel for who she is.  He def agrees with Littlefinger on the whole being able to mold a person if you know what they want thing.  And this whole little expedition is helping him figure out what Jack wants.  Which will lead him to finding out what Rachel wants and duly exploiting that.

But anyway, I do think he’s done his homework plus some on the Turners, not to mention I think we said they’ve known each other for a long time from Denmark richies dealings?????  But anyway, he def knows things about the Turners and tbh probs that Mama Turner wanted Pippa dead before she wand even born and yeah I think he’d have something to say about that.  But I think he’d mostly express that he was curious to meet his little cousin as his reason to come if she asked.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that’ll be suchhhhh a happy moment for Jack obv *praying emojis*  He’s gonna be like “WHAT WHAT COUSIN WHAT”

HAHAHAHAHAH still laughing about Alek being confused about what all the fuss is about ;DD

But no, all of that totally makes sense! (And yeah, I do think that the Turners/Starks have known each other a really long time and that the parents are probably friends as well as the kids (well Elias/Alek are kinda friends and Jack/Alek less so but anyway ;DDD) 

So yeah, anyway, she would dEF believe he’s a Turner relative for a lot of reasons ... and yeah, I think she may be a ~little~ guarded at first b/c she’s had a pretty bad experience with like 95% of the Turners (so I do think she’d be a little wary of his true motives tbh, but I think, for the most part, she really wants him to genuinely be there for his cousin (lol who isn’t even his cousin but anyway) and so I think that their first meeting would go pretty well and she’d be friendly and tbh would probably end up answering all of his questions #facepalm. I mean, as long as they don’t seem too weird but I feel like Alek knows what he’s doing and I doubt she’ll suspect anything. 

But she will def mention the visit to Jack, tbh, and idk how much he’ll tell her (probs not much hahah) but I feel like his reaction will be enough for her to not want to let Alek come around anymore, so I feel like their next meeting (if there is one) will go less well, haha.

YOU BETTER DO WELL BY HER (rachel: that’s literally my job???) but idk maybe Rachel comes by the house or something b/c Celia is a new student and she’s coming into school as a senior and she wants to talk w/ her guardian + probably celia, too, about her goals and where she is in the college search process/if that’s something she wants to pursue, etc. etc. Like I feel like there aren’t many transfer students here and even fewer that come in as a senior so I feel like Rachel might wanna meet with them as soon as possible so Celia doesn’t fall behind w/ applications + everything ... and like in a normal town, they’d probably meet her at the school but hey I feel like this town is small and way less informal and bASICALLY my point is maybe she comes by the house looking for Celia and/or Tess but only Blair is there? And idk if she’d be hella suspicious (WHAT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE DROPPING BY?!?!) and pretend to be Tess then, too, or if there would just be an awkward Blair/Rachel convo or something?? idk?

THEM STARTING THEIR CAREERS T0GETHER AND RACH BEING A REGULAR LADJFKLJSAKDLJFJKDS <3333333333  That sounds like the perfect way for them to have met!!!  Esp since I feel like, when it was first starting, work was the only place she really go the chance to actually go hahahah and I can see where, a couple nights in a row, Rachel was maybe there hella late and since she was such a regular, Lexi let her stay while they were closing up and maybe it just kind of became a thing and it helped cement their relationship and just yasssss  Also, Lexi is probs less forgiving of Jack’s behavior than Rachel is and I cry

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FRIENDSHIP THO!!! It makes me weirdly emotional that Rachel was there for Lexi and now Lexi is there for Rachel and just alkdjfalskdjflsadkfjlasdkfjaslfjdslfj LOL but yeah tbh there are probably a lot more GNI than GNO anymore like I feel like they did the bar scene and whatever when they were younger but I feel like they hit on a lot and so now they just share a bottle of something strong and chat/rant on the couch at home haha 

also the way their friendship started is beautiful and glorious and alkfjaldsfjladkfja and I mean I feel like Rach was def busy back then or whatever, but not nearly as busy as Lexi and I can see her helping her close up so she can get earlier and they could hit the bar or catch a movie or just pick up some pizza and idk I thinks he knows that it’s really important to do something besides just work and taking care of your family and I think she was definitely there to make sure that Lexi had that. <3

HAHAHAHA, I feel like 90% of the people in her life are less forgiving of Jack’s behavior than Rachel, but Rachel also knows that they don’t know Jack like she does and probably never will and yeah -- she def tries to convince people that he’s not as bad as he seems (turns out he’s worse! ;DD jk jk) but I feel like they are just like “okay he might be the best guy you’ve ever dated, but you’ve also dated a lot of horrible people so the bar is really low there, rach.”

I think you said that Alek would come around the Clarkes just to get Jack upset??? And that he would pose as some Turner cousin??? I honestly feel like Rachel would be like ???????? b/c a) it feels kinda random some cousin coming out of the woodwork especially since Jack never mentioned him and b/c the Turners (jack aside ofc) are so incredibly anti-rachel/pippa ... anyway, I think she’d have a lot of mixed feelings b/c on one hand she’s so pro-family and wants Pippa to have the largest support system she can, but she also doesn’t trust the Turners (I mean one of them literally tried to pay her to kill her unborn child so ...) so I think she’d be unsure about what this really is and does he have hidden motives and she’d def wanna get to know him before she even thinks about introducing him to Pippa but I do think that she’d def bring him up with Jack and be like “what’s your cousin’s deal?!?!?”

Okay I know that we talked briefly about these two back when you were still figuring Aileen out but I can't remember the details?? I know that Aileen is a person who pushes ppl away meanwhile Rachel is just as persistent to try to keep relationships hahaha espeCIALLy back when she first met Aileen b/c that was back when her ~bad~ romantic relationships started and she was sooo determined not to give up on ppl (even in those cases when she should have run for the hills but anyway). Rachel has since learned that there are ppl you shouldn't fight for but I feel like Aileen is probably still someone se tries to have a relationship with bc family is sooo important to Rachel and she didn't have anyone besides meg growing up and she wants better for pippa, too. Anyway I think Rachel likes to try to have family get togethers at least once a month (even tho it's just her sister and the Andersons???? But still??) and Aileen is always invited to those even if she doesn't comes haha.
