ACTRESS QUVENZHANÉ WALLIS LANDS ANOTHER BIG ROLE IN ‘COUNTING BY 7s’

Quvenzhané Wallis may be young, but she is currently one of the busiest actresses in the industry. In addition to starring as ‘Annie’alongside Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, slated to hit theaters December 19, she has just been cast to play a 12-year-old genius in ‘Counting by 7’s.’

Adapted from a young adult novel by Holly Goldberg Sloan by the same name, ‘Counting by 7′s’ is about a pre-teen girl shook by the sudden deaths of her adoptive parents. Wallis’ character, Willow Chance, is fascinated by nature, diagnosing medical conditions, and counting by sevens. An outcast, she only truly connects with her adoptive parents. After they pass away in a car crash, Chance strives to find a surrogate family for herself.

Wallis debuted in 2010’s Oscar-nominated film ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild,’ She would go on to become the youngest actress ever nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. She also played Margaret Northup in ’12 Years A Slave,’ alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o.

Wallis will also star in a film titled ‘Fathers and Daughters’, a love story between a father and daughter set in New York City, and will be voicing a character in The Prophet,’ another adaptation from a novel of the same name by Khalil Gibran that will be produced by Salma Hayek.
