the whole town seemed rather sad as of late, as if death itself hovered overhead casting gloom and depression over its citizens. from what she understood, the loss of this bella girl was of some significance, but hadn’t she posed a threat? surely her extermination had been warranted. why did so many humans care? she’d play the part of a mourner to blend in but quite frankly it was exhausting pretending to care. if anything, the girl’s death was more of an inconvenience for her. she couldn’t very well continue hunting humans so soon in the aftermath. thank the gods she’d fed recently so she could wait.
the brunette walked aimlessly through the bookstore, pausing every now and again to feign admiration over a title she’d likely read hundreds of thousands of times. the attached cafe was cute, she decided. after purchasing a book and a tea (that she really didn’t need but helped with appearances), she wandered over to the bay window, the bench only half-occupied by another brunette. “do you mind if i sit?”
laurel forces a cough, using her hand to cover her mouth – it was kind of smart, if you thought about it, pretending to be sick. to keep people a safe distance away from you. “ sorry, pardon me. “ as she squeezes her way past, looking for someone who looked friendly as light colored suitcase rolling with her, but to others who knew what red colored eyes meant would have known what she was and she hoped to others, it looked like she had just arrived. “ sorry, do you know where this hotel is per chance ? “ as she points towards her phone showing the name of said hotel.
christine was still fairly new to seattle, having only arrived a few months ago. still, she’d taken it upon herself to get to know the city fairly well during her first few nights, and now she blended in just well enough with the locals -- if you didn’t look at her eyes. “may i?” christine asks, hand extended for the phone to see the hotel name a little clearer. she pauses for a moment, crimson lips pursed while she thinks. “alright, so -- you’ll go down three blocks that way, make a left, walk a bit, and it should be on the right. i can take you, if you’d like.”
Christine was back, and Liam was finally letting that sink in. The few run ins he had with her all ended very quickly because he chose to just walk away. He wanted this time to be different. He wanted to be different. However, he knew she wouldn’t leave until she had gotten what he wanted. Liam knew what he had to do, it was time to confront her.
It wasn’t hard for him to find her place of residence, Christine had a certain…aesthetic, one that he found himself fond of as well. He knew how she thought, but he also knew that she was smart. If he wanted things to be different than their previous encounters, he knew he would have to be smart. Knowing the door was always open for him, he chose to knock three times anyway. @blccdbourne
Christine was quite content lounging around in her bedroom. She’d picked up some of her favorite novels at secondhand shops in her travels along the way to Seattle and she’d primarily planned on using them for decoration while in town. They added a pop of color to the room, and it made the place more home-y if anyone curious came around. She’d read them enough times that flipping through the pages was little more than memory recall. She’d also spent more than enough time making her presence known to Liam, so now she’d wait for him to come running to her. When that may be, she wasn’t sure, but she didn’t expect it quite so quickly.
The brunette had just emerged from the shower when she heard three knocks at the door, and she was dressed and across the house in seconds, plastering a smile on her face before opening the door. “I--” Christine paused. It was rare for her to be taken aback, but this was one of those moments. She paused, regaining her composure. “Liam. Come in.”
gianna’s head is not necessarily… in on the whole idea of christmas this year. she’s stressed. she’s tired, and yet she can’t seem to catch anything akin to sound sleep. it’s probably apparent on her features as she pops in and out of the stores of the mall, aimlessly scanning for presents for her family and friends. her feet bring her into a small candle shop and she spends a good bit of time smelling different ones, eventually finding one that somehow… smells like nostalgia. pine and sugar and all things good. for a moment, she finds a crumb of peace in that moment before it’s interrupted by someone beside her. she bites on her lip, partly out of annoyance and maybe more STRESS added onto her shoulders, sneaking one, two glances at the bystander beside her. the brunette from the gala. gianna is unable to shake the feeling she should play her cards right around her. placing the lid back on the candle in her hands, she turns. “the sale here is hard to beat, right?” a smile is painted onto her features. “did we… get off on the wrong foot, the other night ? at the gala ? it was you that was looking for liam, right ?” @blccdbourne
christine wasn’t sure what quite possessed her to want to buy candles again, but nevertheless she found herself searching for just the right ones to purchase. if it reminded her of england or of liam, it would be perfect. citrus made her nose wrinkle in disgust -- why on earth would someone make a candle’s scent so strong? -- and she immediately moved away from the offending candle, meandering around the shelves and stopping when she reached the more winter-themed ones. the girl with liam’s scent.
“yes, that was me, and i believe we did. i’m terribly sorry about not introducing myself, by the way. i’m christine, and you are?”
Liam wasn’t one for parties, or any big events for that matter. All of the ones he ever attended ended in death, usually by his hand, at Christine’s request. This was the first event that he could attend without it ending in bloodshed. He wandered around, a glass of red wine in his hand. While he could not have human food or drink, he had grown fond of the smell, and he needed an excuse to fit in, even if his red eyes weren’t enough to give him away. Time passed by slowly as he made idle chit chat with other vampires, trying to stay away from the obnoxious amount humans that were here. Liam wasn’t entirely sure why the Volturi would open their doors to humans, but he also wasn’t one to question their authority, although at times he wanted to. He took another fake sip of wine as he settled into the background of the crowd, talking a break from talking. That’s when he felt her, Christine calling to him. Before he could run, she was behind him, whispering in his ear. @blccdbourne
Christine had been searching for Liam for what felt like hours. His scent had led her to some human — she’d have to ask him about that girl later — and it had taken some time to actually find him amongst the crowds, despite the girl’s semi-helpful directions. Focus, Christine. His scent clearly wasn’t going to help her, so that idea would need to go. If she stayed along the edges of the room, perhaps she’d have a better view? These contact lenses she’d purchased were quite irritating to her vision, and she’d love to tear them out, but she’d prefer not to gain the suspicion of humans, so she’d stick with brown eyes for the night.
From across the room, finally she could sense him, and she was behind him in a matter of seconds. “Liam,” she whispered, her breath cool against his neck. “Dance with me, I’ve missed you.”
christine was...well, not quite attempting to track liam’s scent, but basically attempting to track his scent. a masquerade was always a fun time in her book, but hidden faces made things slightly difficult in a crowded room. nonetheless, the brunette floated around the room, champagne flute in hand. she’d be social when necessary, but she was most determined to find liam.
her senses must have been...off...because the person standing before her was not her boyfriend (if he fit that label?), but she carried his scent. who was this? was she -- was she a human? why did she smell like liam? before she could stop herself, her nose crinkled ever so slightly in disgust. christine attempted to cover by taking a sip of her champagne before engaging in conversation.
“hi. i’m so sorry to bother you -- i, you haven’t by chance seen a man about yea high, gorgeous facial structure, answers to liam? i lost him on the way in and i really need to speak with him.”
– “UNPACKING?” ALLIE BEAMS. “well, welcome to town!” she figures she won’t get much out of this woman in that case, and she isn’t sure she wants to scare her with all of the happenings and her crazy conspiracy theories. she’s just trying to solve a mystery, maybe give this girl the justice she so deserves. not scare off newcomers. “what brings you here?” she asks, earnest.
“and, um, no – actually, i was just hoping to run into a friend, but they’re not here, so. i’ll get out of your hair soon, promise.”
christine appreciated the warm welcome, though she knew she didn’t deserve it. her reasons for being in town were...well, it was safe to say she didn’t have the best intentions. she was a good enough actress, though, and she would take that to her advantage. “my boyfriend moved out here a while ago for work, so we’ve been long distance,” she paused, pouting her lips slightly. “but i was finally able to get a job out here as well so i could join him. i’ve missed him, you know?”
“no worries, love. i don’t mind, really. i hope your friend’s alright -- do they have a habit of not showing up or running late or...whatever this is?”
– ALLIE ISN’T ONE TO FREQUENT A BAR. she doesn’t much like drinking unless it’s sugary and doesn’t taste like liquor at all, and even then…but still, she’s got a mission. she’s no police, but lately she’s tried to take it upon herself to do the things the police aren’t doing. she’s probably just with a boy, they said, but something just didn’t sit right with her.
“hey, do you come here often?” she asks, settling into one of the bar stools. her face turns red when she registers her words. “n–not like that! i meant it as a serious question, as in, do you frequent this establishment?” not much better.
crimson-painted lips curled into an amused smile at the other woman’s question. “it’s actually my first night here. well, since unpacking, that is. it’s taken me forever.” the brunette paused to take a sip of her drink. in all honesty, everything beyond furniture in her rented apartment had been bought on her arrival to town, and she’d needed all of five minutes to organize things to her liking. not that she’d tell a stranger that, of course. that was exactly how to draw attention to herself, and not in the good way.
“what about you -- are you here often? not to pick up women, of course.”
The week had been extremely draining for Liam. He had felt this all too familiar hold on him for a few days now, coupled with the brief sightings he had seen of her, of Christine. However, Liam convinced himself it was a trick of the mind, blaming it on the simple fact that he hadn’t fed yet this week. He wasn’t in fact seeing Christine, he was just thirsty. So, here he stood, watching a girl, who seemed as though she wouldn’t be missed. She couldn’t have been more than nineteen and she was all alone as she strolled through the museum, eyes lighting up at each painting. Liam liked the fire in her eyes, and would like it even more when he drained it from her. He was waiting for the perfect moment to make his move when a familiar chill went down his spine. Her words turned his already frozen veins to ice. “Christine.” He whispered, not wanting to believe she was there, not wanting to look at her, because he knew if he did, his heart would break into a thousand pieces.
“hello, my love.” christine replied, leaning forward to wrap her arms around liam’s neck and press a chaste kiss behind his ear. “i’ve missed you.” it wasn’t a complete lie -- she had on some level missed him, though whether she’d missed him or the chase was uncertain. or maybe it was something about the way she felt with him, but she couldn’t explain it. she’d be lying if she tried to say it wasn’t nice to see his face again after all this time. throughout her years as a vampire, she’d never stuck with one person for quite this long, even if they were on-and-off somewhat frequently.
she watched liam’s choice of a meal in her peripheral vision. the girl was pretty, but definitely not the type to be missed. she could see why liam had chosen this one. but really, his staring was going to scare her off. “if you’re really that hungry, let me help you. we can have some fun”
john wiped down the top of the bar, the night winding down as a few stragglers started to leave. he was in town to find out what was going on with the so-called newborn army but so far he hadn’t even found out if the rumors were true let alone who was the cause behind the whole thing. he was going to be in town a little longer than planned, so he figured he might as well get a bartending job at a pub downtown in the meantime. he could use the extra cash and besides with all the supernatural creatures crawling around, who knows what would walk through his doors. almost like magic the door chimed as someone walked in, the golden hue vampire glanced up offering a charming smile. “well you’re just in time for last call”, he chimed tossing the bar rag over his shoulder, “what can I get for ya?”
christine was still relatively new to town, so she figured the best way to gather information was to hit up the local pub -- humans were always oversharing, so it likely wouldn’t require much work on her part. however, she’d gotten...well...a little hungry on her way out, so she arrived at the pub a little later than she’d originally intended. the brunette tousled her hair ever so slightly, just enough to make the curls appear intentionally disheveled, and made her way inside. “hi. merlot, please, if you don’t mind? and gossip, if you’ve heard anything exciting today.”
from her spot in the corner of the room, christine had a perfect view of liam, and she was hidden just enough to go unnoticed. over the past week, she’d made a point of making herself visible to him for brief seconds and then disappearing -- her own little way of announcing her presence after laying low for a week. the brunette stepped out from the shadows, feigning interest in the nearest display, while her focus was trained on her former partner. the way he was watching that human girl, he was going to get caught. he was attractive enough that it wouldn’t be too concerning, but really, he should be less obvious by now.
heels clicking over the marble floor, christine made her approach, speaking quietly once she was directly behind him. “you know, you really shouldn’t stare at people. it’s quiet rude.” @cloudedunknown
halloween was - well, both annoying and humorous at the same time. as a vampire of over 100 years, esme took the liberty in trying to get into the holiday spirit. having kids dressed up like her own kind walking up to her door and asking for candy could be the dictionary definition of perplexing. with that being said, she still had to get candy. her eyes moved from a bag of reese’s to a bag of lolipops, mind wandering on which one tasted better. of course - no part of her craved either, but this holiday wasn’t (in most ways) about her. “chocolate or hard candy,” her voice was a mumble. golden eyes caught sight of a body beside, heading turning to face whomever it was. “chocolate or hard candy?”
christine wasn’t expecting much foot traffic from children trick-or-treating -- she lived in an apartment complex that was primarily composed of students fresh out of college or older twenty-somethings like herself, and parents wouldn’t really bring their children there, would they? still, she couldn’t resist the temptation of a bag of sweets, even just to lounge on her sofa with. during her travels, she had spent a few halloween’s in massachusetts, which really was a quaint little place. maybe she’d settle there when she was done with liam this time around. focus. “sorry?” the brunette asked, before processing the question she’d been asked. “oh. i think kids prefer chocolate, but honestly, you’re probably better off just getting both bags. safest choice.”
⧼ daisy ridley, cisfemale, she/her / copycat – billie eilish + black roses, abandoned castles, and half-drunk glasses of red wine ⧽ ━━ don’t look now, but that’s christine langdon . the twenty-five ( two hundred and sixty-four ) year old vampire has been here in seattle for two weeks, and is considered to be a nomad. they’ve always been charismatic & persuasive, but i guess this town just brings out the worst in people ; apparently, they’ve been way more manipulative & deceitful than usual. it wouldn’t surprise me if they knew what was going on. [ gi, 23, est, she/her ]
hello, i’m v excited to be here and introduce you all to my lil baby christine. i’m filling em’s wanted connection for liam doran’s on & off again gf, and here’s what you need to know about her.
the beginning
christine was born in london, england in 1755.
she attended music school, but when it came time to send soldiers to the colonies, she took up nursing studies as well.
at the end of what seemed to be a promising date with a soldier in 1780, she was turned and abandoned. she couldn’t return home or she’d kill her family, so she left. she has some morals.
she traveled around, learning from others like her how to control her bloodlust, her hunger.
she also learned in this time that men will do anything for a pretty lady, and she took advantage of this, seducing men into doing her bidding.
she has the power/ability of siren song, basically meaning she has the power to “emit irresistible sound that lures anyone who hears it towards the user.” when she uses this power, it also allows her some semblance of control over her victim. she mostly uses the power to recruit new boys/men and then when she really needs them to obey, she’ll use control, but the song is usually enticing enough.
imagine she sounds something like miss christine daaé from phantom of the opera when she sings, but her voice is magnetizing.
enter liam
christine met liam around 1825, and they immediately hit it off.
like with every new recruit, christine needed to test his loyalty. however, she needed to form a romantic bond with this one, so he’d have reason to trust her.
the next bits in bold are directly from em’s bio for liam:
she began to test his loyalty, asking him to do things, things that a normal person would do, but he did them anyway.
the tasks started out easy, like stealing, then escalated to killing people. liam still did them, because she asked, because she promised him a life with her.
whenever liam seemed to be growing suspicious, christine would up and disappear for a short while and she’d keep repeating the cycle until she’d manipulated him enough where she could trust him.
once she was satisfied, once she convinced him that she loved him, and she was convinced his loyalty would always lie with her, she changed him.
yeah, it was heartless to play with his emotions, but attachments got you killed, and he’d need to learn that. well, he sort of did when she turned him, but that’s beside the point.
after turning liam, she abandoned him. she’d had to adjust to this life on her own -- why should she help him? he’d learn better on his own.
after a few months of liam traveling and searching, she found him.
they fell right back into their cycle of manipulation, with christine promising she loved him so he’d do whatever she asked. she’d disappear and show up again every few years, knowing he’d fall for her tricks because he was blinded by his love for her.
now?
some part of her started to miss their little cat and mouse game so she made her way to the united states, starting on the east coast and moving her way west in recent months.
she’s been in seattle for about two weeks and is keeping a low profile while she tracks liam so she can stage their next reunion.
she hasn’t figured it out yet but over the decades/centuries, she’s started to actually develop some sort of feelings for liam. gross, emotions.
misc
she’s a combo of the vixen and siren archetypes. she’s a seductress.
probably an aries?? we’ll see.
highkey always wearing a red or dark lip. it’s her signature look.
