❝ What’s the simplest way to describe? ❞
Either he’s been living under a rock or in a place where they don’t have fun–or maybe just different names for different sports? It’s a sad day when he has to educate an adult on something so common.
❝ I play volleyball–it’s where two teams throw a ball over a net three times and make sure it doesn’t touch the ground. Soccer is where two teams have goals and try to keep the other team from shooting the ball into their goal, and get a point. There are two teams in baseball that throw balls at each other and hit it with a stick and try to touch three white bases, and when they make a full-circle, it’s a point. ❞
“... Strange.” As initially suspected, none were sports that involved bending, and presumably were a source of entertainment for non-benders. Despite all of his years spent among non-benders, not once had he witnessed them playing these sports, even as he turned the descriptions over in his head. None of them struck a familiar cord in him. “And all of these games... They utilize the same ball?” It wasn’t able to be seen behind his mask and this lighting, but he looked to the ball the teen clasped in his hands, trying to envision how it would work.
