chandler didn’t want to flirt with the bartender and was doing his best to make that clear, but he felt like it was getting confused for some reason or another. he was glad she didn’t dwell on it, but didn’t really care for the topic she stayed on. he didn’t talk about julian. “no, i don’t want to talk about it.” he insisted. “last time i talked about it i started crying at work. that shit’s not happening again. besides, you’d never believe me if i told you i made out with this guy i liked and then he died a couple days later but it turns out he’s not dead, he was just coma’ed and the hospital fucked up their records.”
blakely listened, taking it all in for what it was -- just some kid, barely old enough to be here. she did as bartenders do and listened to the crazy story that he laid out for her on the bar. it was interesting, dying but not actually dead was actually a new one, but he didn’t need to know that. she’d been in the game long enough to know that this kid needed to hear that he wasn’t crazy. “ not the craziest story i’ve ever heard, but you can keep goin’, “ she told him, grabbing a rag and taking a seat on the cooler under the bar. “ you’re sittin’ down so apparently you’re goin’ no where fast to get back to him. “
