my first crack at working with clay in.... more than a decade??

kind of hate air dry clay and acrylic paint after this but still wanna make some pals for this cutie! might try polymer clay once I feel a little more confident in my sculpting, but I’ll experiment with the air dry I already have in the mean time ✨

I made it when I was a kid and it may be so tragic-looking that it’s banished to the garden, but I still kinda like it :)

while painting this sculpture I’m reminded that acrylic paint has some really great features, for example:

👍 being too dry to blend as soon as it hits the surface, yet wet enough to smudge long after applied

👌 adding water somehow makes it dry faster, as well as just... not adhere to the surface at all

🙃 inconsistent colour changes after it dries

✨ fucking disgusting base colours that are almost impossible to mix into something decent/usable

✌️ using it makes me want to scream
