A Defense of Dubs
Silly anon, Nick/Cool Cat is the one true OTP
Okay, that thing is an actual cryptid monster, I will not go near that horror show.
At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job. At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer.
At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school. At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At age 28, Wayne Coyne ( from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter. At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker. At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didn’t get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didn’t release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didn’t get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didn’t begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didn’t become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it.
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.
Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough.
You can do it. Whatever it is.
This is so worth reblogging!
Thank you!
Feel like I kinda have to get this..

Fallout: Nuka Break PSA / Link Masterpost
The tumblr Fallout fandom is growing rapidly, but most people seem to be unaware of the existence of Nuka Break. Every Fallout fan should be aware of this important series.

Fallout: Nuka Break is a live-action fan series started in 2011. It consists of two short films, two film-length “seasons”, and it is confirmed to be returning with new episodes in late Summer 2016. It’s about a vault-dweller, a pre-war ghoul, and an escaped Legion slave traveling together and trying not to die, sometime shortly before the events of New Vegas. Along the way, they meet a mysterious ranger (non-NCR) who helps them defend themselves against Leon, a delusional, alcoholic Legion general who is obsessively trying to capture them.
I can’t say much more about the plot without spoiling things, but as you can see from these gifs, the sets, costumes, and production values are extremely professional. A couple actual Fallout lore characters appear, as well. Professional actors Vic Mignogna (voice of Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist) and Doug Jones (Abe Sapien in the Hellboy films) play recurring characters.

Chris Avellone (Writer of Lonesome Road and creator of Ulysses) and Tim Cain (the creator of Fallout) were both involved in the production, though the details on specifically how they were involved are very sketchy for some reason.
Here’s a photo of Avellone and Cain on the set of Nuka Break’s second season, if you want proof.
Bethesda has promoted the series on their official blog multiple times and called it “great work”. The series was referenced in a New Vegas DLC pack, Gun Runner’s Arsenal, in the form of the Nuka-Breaker weapon. JE Sawyer is known to be a personal fan of the series. To be honest, there’s absolutely nothing lore-breaking in the entire show and the Fallout staff at Beth and Obsidian unanimously openly approve of it, so it may as well be considered semi-canon.
LINKS TO WATCH:
Fallout: Red Star - A prequel. Despite being made after season 2 was completed, you should totally watch it first. Trust me.
Fallout: Nuka Break Fan Film - The pilot. It really sucks. Watch it anyway.
Nuka Break Complete Season 1 - Really slow to start, but once the climax approaches, things get very interesting, very fast.
Nuka Break Complete Season 2 - An all-around improvement on the first season. Higher production values, a much better script, and fantastic pacing. Every Fallout fan needs to see this shit.
BONUS:
Fallout: Lanius - A completely unrelated but exceptional Fallout fan film. It’s a dramatization of the backstory of Legate Lanius, the final boss of Fallout: New Vegas. While Nuka Break is a fun mix of gritty and campy, Lanius is a dead-serious and intense interpretation of the Fallout setting.
