i have to ask, havving only played Ocarina of Time, and knowing the most otherwise about Majora's Mask,

and THEN you get put into ANOTHER torment nexus called Termina, where you have to relive the same three days again and again, knowing that if you make the slightest mistep you and everyone you know will die.

and then you win and then you leave and you never see them again and you grow old and die and are so sad your soul remains trapped for a long time until you finally train your sucessor

i think my favourite form of narration hiding something from the reader is second-person

like, you (character) know what's up but you (reader) do not

like often people will know something but not actively think it

like, if you know a secret your friend has, you are not going to think about it every time you two talk

and the use of you really makes it more facinating when said secret is revealed, because you (character) already knew it and thus are not suprised, but you (reader) are.

my concept for an eldritch creature:

so first, imagine a 1D creature... it may seem easy, but remember that you can only view it in one way, it does not exist in 2D nor higher.

how do you even fathom something that truly exists in only 1D?

now try to imagine a 1D creature that also exists in 3D. It is 1D and 3D but not 2D

Now, for simplicity (hah!) sake, add a dimention,

you have a creature that exists in 2D and 4D but not 1D or 3D.

you look at it from a different angle and it vanishes, youy cannot comprehend the 4D but something in your brain tells you there is more,

it shifts as you move and it is still and it is everywhere within confines you cannot truly grasp

see, my way of getting around the "the problem with eldritch romance is that the eldritch being simply isnt capable of loving something so insignificant", which i personally disagree with but assuming that one holds that statement true:

fragments. the part of the being you interact with is but a mere shard, fragment, tiny portion of a much greater beast,

in order for them to interact with people, they must cut a part of themselves out to become fathomable, and likewise, they can fathom emotions on a human-ish level

they may love or be in love on that scale, as they are in a form that can understand it, and when they combine to the greater scale their emotions are still preveletn

because of how strong the emotions were in the small part, even though it is small when combined, it's strenght perseveres and the being still loves you, in the way it can

just watched first ep of The Summer Hikaru Died,

gotta say, the way they interweave sheer DREAD into every scene, every shot, is incredible...

i dont know anything other than that is NOT Hikaru, which you are told in the 1st episode, but man oh man it gives me chills.

especially how they reuse those shots from when Not!Hikaru admitted it, the shots of the plants and the shop covering and such, and how the sky and lighting in those shots change, that is brilliant
