Being serious a lot of whites legitimately donât realize how recent a lot of this stuff is like for example, Iâm only 29, and my *dad* was part of bussing as a high schooler during desegregation. Not grandpa, not great grandpa, my FATHER.
There are schools STILL fighting desegregation across the US and being forced to desegregate legally as recently as the 2010s.
The âlastâ known (non-prison) chattel slaves were released in the 1960s.
Childrenâs remains from the MOVE bombing (80s neighborhood firebombing by police that burnt down 65 houses) were recently identified that had been kept by universities as teaching cadavers and family never notified.
Even famously Black cities like Washington D.C experience functional segregation through things like social/financial exclusion and discriminatory spending/service provision even if technically legally protected from it.
Yâall didnât stop picnicking about lynchings, you just started calling them protest meetings and somehow having your organizations end up majority white and pushing out Black and Brown members that push for change.
We still dying, we still suffering, we still ending up with the worst outcomes despite doing the most effective and efficient movement work for yâall. We still giving yâall all yâallâs culture and paying for it in dead bodies and grief and being ignored.
So yeag I got anger and a lot of yâall deserve much worse than Iâm willing to LET myself do to you, even when YâALL are âthe good onesâ that donât actively hate crime us and try to help against the worse ones sometimes.
Iâm gonna stay angry until we got something better than 75% of Black trans women experiencing financial hardship and making up the majority of violent deaths, until Black cemeteries ainât being illegally desecrated for white development, until we finally ACTUALLY liberated as Black people, as trans people, instead of the absolute joke of âlibertyâ we have now.
Yâall ainât fuckin getting free without us and yâall need to start acting like it instead of hoping you can sacrifice us to pay your way.
