Hi there! | She/Her | 23 | Hippie | X-Men fan | Legacy Marauder enthusiast 'Blood In The Gutter' was an X-Men fanfiction website created by Kelly 'Kielle' Newcomb (10/22/1972--9/22/2005), a prominant fanfic writer. The site was dedicated almost entirely to the Marauders, a villain group introduced in 1986 and created by comic book legends Chris Claremont, John Romita Jr., and Dan Green. The team is most fondly remembered for their roll in the Mutant Massacre storyline. They are mainly associated with the likes of Mister Sinister and Gambit. As a young X-Men fan since around 2014 with a weird fascination for these characters, I felt an instant connection when I first discovered Kielle and her work. Recently, I thought it would be fun to start a blog which highlighted the Marauders, as well as the works of Kielle and others associated with the BITG site. Here, you will find images, thoughts, and links to various Marauder-related sources, as well as some general appreciation for this underrated bunch of baddies. You will also find some other stuff I like from time to time... Input and questions are encouraged! This is also a safe space. Blood In The Gutter -- X-Men fanfiction website

This website was archived in October of 1999 through (I believe) April of 2008. It was created by the late and great Kelly Newcomb, aka Kielle, and is X-Men focused--with a twist; almost all of these stories are focused on the villainous group, the Marauders, pictured below.

(That includes Gambit and Sinister-related stories, as well)

I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing with this blog; I'm a bit new to this. I am passionate about the things I like, and one of those things is, as weird as it sounds, the Marauders. And I've wanted to share this site with others for a while now; what better way, y'know?

I was listening to a podfic and- well, anyways, I need to know, do you pronounce "janos" as "JAY-nos" or jan (like "jam") nos?

i say jan-nos but that’s probably because of my accent

jay-nos just doesn’t sound right for me for some reason 😭

"HA-nos", I believe. Like Janos, Chihuahua. Solely basing this on him being of Mexican descent, at least in the comics

Was watching this X-Men: First Class documentary…

and I think I’ve made a discovery:

Álex González (I think???) with white hair.

Perhaps they had originally planned to make him look a little more comic accurate.

That’s cool that they tried. I wish I had a more high resolution picture to see what it looked like more clearly, especially with the purple suit if ever a picture was taken.

The documentary is really interesting and talks about some of the other things they had to change about the characters’ designs when adapting them for the movie, like Beast and Azazel. I hope more people watch it. Here’s the link:
