I’m very fascinated by what little children absorb when adults tell them about religion. I read that inborn temperamental factors and also the child’s personal experience of their closeness with their father can influence whether kids absorb the idea of God as terrifying or comforting.
Comment or tag specifics if you’d like.
What age did you first deeply ponder your relationship with your god? Was this comforting or upsetting?

@elena-lila This is really fascinating that Hinduism does the equation of god with your parents, but in the opposite direction, yet that has the same psychological outcome on the child. In (my mother’s denomination of) Christianity we are told that God is your first father. So if your parents are then immature you think either “I hate God then” or “I must be a bad person who deserves this, because I do trust that God is good because I trust my father”
guy who gets a pepsi from the break room vending machine every day after his work shift & amiably says “gotta have a pepsi!” while grinning & passing it back & forth between his hands but one day the pepsi is sold out & he leaves the building robotically with a completely flat expression & isn’t seen at work again
getting overtaken as a pedestrian: people are seriously so caught up with themselves they can’t get somewhere 30 seconds later
overtaking people: come on girls it’s not a statue garden

Okay coming here just to complain for a second: why does it have to be that most of the lesbian/wlw fandom edits always include Euphoria and H***** S*******. That is not a wlw relationship.

“Haha remember when murder-hornets were gonna be a thing? What a nothingburger.”
Yes, because the Washington state government activated like a sleeper-cell and ruthlessly, systematically hunted them down and annihilated them.
“Y2K came to nothing amirite?”
Yes because an army of software engineers working around the clock, losing sleep, and busting ass till the last minute prevented it from happening.
“Remember the hole in the ozone layer?”
You mean the one that was fixed through rigorous world wide government action?
One of the root problems of our society is a refusal or inability by media to articulate that all those “it’s gonna be an apocalypse” disasters were not disasters because we collectively did something about them.
The good news is this is actually quite correctable. I maintain my firm belief that we as humans are capable of solving almost all of our problems, when we decide to do so.
And I still think that’s going to happen. I don’t know when or how, but I do know that abandoning hope won’t help bring it about.
And I refuse to let the cynics own a chunk of my heart.
I reblogged this last month, tagged it, and said “might as well see if it works.” I used this video as a reference to find all the forms that i needed (which is A LOT, especially if you’re a dependent) and sent them through the mail, not really allowing myself to hope.
dude.
