george immediately leaving in the morning without anything resembling an acknowledgement of the harrowing trials and tribulations annie has just dealt with (lowkey saving him from going on a rampage and probably killing a bunch of people btw) so he can somehow?? try explain the Events of last night to sam after annie spent the night like this.

being human s2e7 aka one of my favourite scenes from the show and also favourite Werewolf Moments across all media ever. head in my hands

i'm scratching at the walls and floors i am going to explode into a million pieces. things about this moment that drive me so nuts.

mild spoilers for this episode!!

1) the Werewolf Moment of the clocks changing and not keeping track of it and being someone normally like pretty on top of this whole thing suddenly being caught off guard by oh GOD it's happening NOW and it's happening HERE and being reminded of the fact that it normally sucks sooo bad but when it creeps up on you this thing that is usually as predictable as clockwork it's a whole different fear. reminder you can do all the 'right' things like. hello. getting a cage inside your home. you can start dating again and go to parent's evening etc etc but. all of this. all you've done is distract yourself.

2) is this the closest annie has ever been to george while he's transforming. back when she asked to watch it was very much like okay yeah i've seen it now research concluded that was actually harrowing! and now she is forced to not just See it again but be deeply Part of it and contend with this half of a thing infront of her and balance that okay this is a creature that really wants to just kill right now but also this is my Friend and he needs to know i'm here. the way she holds him and reaches through all this bloodthirst to assure him GEORGE that they will make him safer.

3) genuinely haunting smile that this half george does when he sees Prey. man this is terrifying. i am sooooo deeply fascinated most of all in werewolfism by this inbetween state and this is one of the most (not the only!!) prolonged moments of this in the show. so hooked on the idea of how much you are able to fight the transformation like yeah you can't stop it but what kind of desperation does it take to avoid it like that. fighting and fighting it but it's still creeping in in moments like this where even though he managed to run to the place that's been home to george the monster, the non-human person, he's almost not strong enough to hold himself back from attacking humans while still looking mostly human.

4) annie understanding what needs to be done extremely quickly even though she's been interrupted lowkey ghost-suicide-planning in the living room and YET she redirect him and he manages to nod in this over-exaggerated way like there's barely any human left but he's using what is still holding on to let annie help him. it's really interesting cos it's like a mix of giving permission like i know you just need to do whatever it takes to get me upstairs just do it. as well as showing a sign of still being in there somewhere and trying to show that even if this body is less and less of him, this is an apology he is affirming he Wants this, even if his actions say otherwise.

what do you mean being human (uk) shows us three seasons of the vampire werewolf ghost trio trying to live a happy life together as a family of fellow outsiders and ultimately failing in a devastating tragic end and then opens season 4 showing ANOTHER trio who did that in peace for sixty years. why would they do this

i love the fact that in the webseries adam drags the chicken around in the tiniest circle. like he understood the use of chicken on a string but completely failed to realize that you're meant to circle it with like a mile radius

annie didn't even know this about herself but she would be such a great cuckchair fujo. ultimate fulfilment. literally s1 e1 she asks to watch george transform, aka asks to sit in on an extremely private and emotionally loaded thing that he does naked. mitchell says it would build character and helps her goad george into agreeing. fujo cuckchair strike numero uno. in s2 she spends a lot of time messing w other ppl's lives and interfering specifically w their love lives bc she thinks she knows best. not a fujo moment but major cuckchair director energy so this is the second strike. the third ofc is that in s3 she came up w the idea of watching her boyfriend have sex w a stranger so she could get hot and bothered by it (she ended up mostly bothered and it wasn't really hot for anyone involved in the end bc these ppl are first and foremost messy bitches but that's irrelevant it's the thought that counts) and of course, she wrote a fucking script of "sexy lines" to get mitchell in the mood. that woman was meant to backseat drive as their live in roommate fucked her boyfriend. need I say more

Him and Hal...There's a bit where Annie makes them pretend to be boyfriends so Eve can get medical treatment (long story) and Tom gets so into the role. The doctor says something Tom perceives as homophobia and he gets so upset about it, yelling about how "i'm gay and stray! wait that's not it. i'm here and i'm queer!"

I very much struggle to enjoy much of US being human but what i will say is that they ACED it on the casting of Josh, the George analog. God he is so pathetic puppy who gets naked wayy too frequently. And Nora? SUPERB cast for American Nina. So mature, self sufficient. Do I like any of their plots? Uh.

Sally thoo, she is RAD. Significantly different energy than Annie, but her character has a different purpose and much different relationships to the other characters. But I LOVE Sally and her energy, and her ability to be a total freak with weird shit going on.
