“I’ll take your advice, but…” Angelique was right of course, she really ought to be a little more careful about her surroundings whenever she used the magical bookcase to travel. But now that her suspicions were cleared away, it was Tamami’s turn to figure out about Angelique. Why was she the one to spot her and not one of the many other civilians? How come she believed and accepted her story even when it was made to sound like Tamami had made it up on the spot? Angelique also seemed to have some sort of magic ability of her own, these ‘mirrors’ she mentioned. “… I don’t know why, but for some reason, I think our meeting was no mere coincidence.“
“Well, that’s probably true.” Angelique said simply, agreeing to Tamami’s logic quite easily enough, nodding her head. “After all, we’re both Precure, aren’t we?”
She was fairly certain that she wasn’t mistaken- at the very least, this girl surely had some kind of ties to the Precure, not unlike that Sagara Seiji she briefly met in her travels to Pikarigaoka.

“Unless, of course, when you leave at mid-day, and end up on the other side of the planet, in a place where it’s late in the evening.” Tamami explained, pointing out that Angelique’s statement wasn’t entirely true. “Technically, it wouldn’t be ‘jet’-lag, but it would make you lose your sense of time for a moment.”
“I’m sorry about that.” Tamami then quikly apologized when she realized that she ‘did it again’. “According to my mom, I have the tendency of being a smartypants every now and then. I gues she’s right about that.”
“That’s true. There is the time difference to think about.” Angelique nodded her head, folding her arms in front of her chest. “Thankfully they make such things that would help one with determining what time it is in the world in comparison to your time.. a world clock, if you will.”
“It’s quite alright. Perhaps you should be a bit more careful in the future, however. If it had been someone other than me, you might be in trouble right now.”

Tsubasa narrowed her eyes at Earl. Seriously? Why was she attacking with her Paintbrush again? She did know that an attack like that would do minimal damage, if it hurt the barrier at all, right? What an idiot.
The crystal once again reacted to Earl’s attack, forming the barrier to push Earl away.
“Is that all, Cure Earl?” When the barrier disappeared, Tsubasa charged forward and fired a dark blast from her hand. So far, the pink Precure was disappointing her. Even if she managed to catch her off guard.
Now she was sure.
It didn’t appear that this barrier was something the blonde girl was generating on her own, but rather, it seemed to emerge from the strange brooch on her chest, like she suspected.
If that was the case, she should focus her power on that first.
“Precure Artistic Shield!” Spinning the paintbrush in front of her, she formed a glimmering shield to block Tsubasa’s strike. With that done, she once again moved her Rainbow Paintbrush, sending it away this time. Clenching her fist she charged forward, aiming to strike the crystal brooch with her fist.

“I can’t blame you for thinking like that.” Tamami imagined that it must have appeared very suspicious indeed when she snuck out of the bookstore the way she did. “I must have looked quite … unusual, coming out of the bookstore.”
“Yes, it is my first time here. but I expected to come here by airplane, rather than by the method of travel I used today.
“Yes, to say the least.” Angelique nodded her head, agreeing quite readily with the girl about her strange appearance- perhaps a bit too readily, even. “I thought you were some kind of thief or something. At least, that’s the only normal reason I can think of for someone sneaking out of a shop before it’s opened.”
“Well, this is a much easier method of travel than using an airplane. You don’t have to experience jetlag, after all.”

Tamami shook her head for a moment, shaking off the surprise that Angelique had accepted her story without question. But didn’t Chuckles tell her the other day that only a select few were chosen to become Precures worldwide? It would make sense for her to know about this, but only if she was a Precure too. She even talked about magical travel in the same way that Chuckles did. But that couldn’t be it, as she mentioned something about mirrors. No, it had to be something else.
“I’m sorry, I’m a bit new with this method of travel. I’ll be more careful next time.” After doing a quick lookaround, trying to find out if anyone was listening in, Tamami sighed in relief when she found that everyone else seemed to be too busy to pay them any attention. “I’m Tamami Shigemori, by the way.”
“I’m sorry for thinking of you as a suspicious person.” Angelique apologized after a moment, her expression finally softening now that she was certain that this girl wasn’t up to no good. Granted, she was about her age, but the Phantom Empire generals that had been in charge of this area were just kids, so it’s not like age really had any relevance on that sort of thing.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Tamami. Is this your first time in Paris?”

When her foot connected with Earl’s Rainbow Paintbrush, Tsubasa tried pushing on it to knock Earl down. However, Earl was able to shove her back. Tsubasa lost her balance and fell on her rear as a result. She was able to get up quickly, though.
She tried dodging Earl’s attack, not knowing the other’s intention was to test the barrier. The Paintbrush didn’t hit her side, but rather barely touched the red crystal on her chest. That was enough to cause a reaction.
Before the barrier surrounded Tsubasa, the crystal sparked with energy. The barrier appeared to be composed of red energy forming a protective dome around the small girl.
There really was something!
And it seemed to be coming from that red crystal? Something about that thing gave Earl the creeps- it made her skin crawl, to say the least.
Jumping backwards, Earl put some distance between the two of them, considering what to do next. Eyes narrowed, she spun the paintbrush in her hands, charging forward again, once again thrusting out with it in an attempt to perform another test.
Tsubasa’s eyes were still closed tight as the Precure’s attack came towards her. The crystal’s barrier activated again, blocking the energy and taking more damage in the process. If she actually had control over when the barrier activated, the general would have been hit. However, the barrier was merely the crystal’s way of protecting itself from purification. Tsubasa couldn’t control it.
Her lifeless blue eyes slowly opened, finally recovering from the blinding light. The mist still appeared to be up, but the blonde was sure it couldn’t stay there forever. Besides, she already knew Earl’s location. She jumped up again and levitated at the pink Precure’s level. She aimed a kick towards Earl’s torso.
That again... what exactly was that?
None of Earl’s attacks seemed to be going through to the girl, there was always something stopping them ahead of time. A spark of crackling energy caught her eye, and Earl’s eyes briefly narrowed.
Some kind of barrier? A shield? Even with her guard down?
She didn’t have long to dwell on it, because the girl before her recovered from her blinding, and counterattacked. Blocking the burnt of her kick with her Rainbow Paintbrush, the impact sent Earl’s heels skidding back on the pavement somewhat.
Gritting her teeth, she shoved back, breaking free. She had to test this, whatever this thing was... Moving her Rainbow Paintbrush, she lunged forward, swinging the Paintbrush itself towards Tsubasa’s side.
“Gah!” Tsubasa grunted, covering her eyes from the bright light Earl emitted. She fell back down to the ground. For a few seconds, she was lying on the ground. However, she quickly pushed herself back up to a sitting position with her eyes shut tight. The small girl got back on her feet, shaking with anger.
How could she have been so dumb?! She had focused so much on attacking Earl that she jumped right into her trap. It wouldn’t matter in the long run. The crystal’s barrier was still intact. Any projectiles Earl tried to throw at her would be blocked by the red dome. However, the barrier wasn’t invincible.
Earl didn’t seem to realize the truth behind the entire affair. That her opponent was a human who had been brainwashed.
Her trap having worked, the girl’s Creme Waltz form gave way, returning Earl to her regular Precure form. Her Rainbow Paintbrush reappeared in her hands as she did so, and she spun it high in the air, pointing it downwards towards the girl who was still recovering from the blinding light.
“Precure Rainbow Arc!” She called out, once again, releasing an arc of rainbow colored energy towards the girl below her.
She had been fighting to protect Paris this long by herself, she wouldn’t lose to anyone. Chevalier and Saint still hadn’t recovered their energy from being trapped in mirrors for so long, so she had to take care of this herself.

“Wait, …what? Y-you actually believed that story?!” Tamami was taken aback by Angelique’s complete lack of skepticism. “I know it wasn’t a lie, but …” And once more, she found that she didn’t know the right thing to say.
From atop a nearby lamp post, with a number of pigeons on each side of himself, Chuckles the fairy had been following the conversation. “Tamami-san,” he said when he couldn’t keep quiet much longer, “… you shouldn’t go telling your secret to the first person you speak to like that. And besides …” his tone of voice changed to sound slightly offended now. “… I’m not THAT little …”
“Of course I believe it.” Angelique nodded her head, placing her hands on her hips. “I’ve used magic like that myself before. My Lord’s mirrors can be somewhat troublesome to use if you let your thoughts stray, since their destination is determined by what’s in your heart.”
Blinking as she heard the sound of a faint voice, Angelique glanced around, wondering if this girl had a fairy partner hiding somewhere. After all, ifs he was talking about magical transportation, she must have been a Precure, right? Using Blue’s mirrors?
“I’m Angelique Blanc. You are...?”

Tamami opened her mouth to make a snappy comeback, but found that the girl had a fair point. And because she didn’t want to say anything that was an outright lie, she decided not to comment any further on the matter. “Very well, I’ll try you.”
Not wanting to give away too much of her secret, but not wanting to lie either, Tamami decided to give her the truth she asked for, but telling it in such a way that the girl wouldn’t believe her story. Or at least, that’s how she hoped it would go.
“Would you believe me if I told you that I was back home, in Japan, no less than 5 minutes ago? Do you think it’s possible that I was able to travel almost ten-thousand kilometres in only a few seconds? And wouldn’t it be funny if a little fairy told me how to do that?”
As Tamami spoke, there was only one possibility that came to Angelique’s mind. If it had been anyone else, they most likely would have found the girl’s story to be fantastical- but Angelique, of course, had experience with instantaneous transpiration and fairies alike.
“Ah, is that it?” Angelique’s expression actually eased up as the girl’s explanation. If that was true, then perhaps the girl had simply just landed in a place she hadn’t exactly meant to end up in. “I believe you. But you have to be more careful with that sort of thing. Magical transportation can change at your slightest thought, after all.”
Tsubasa used her hearing to determine Cure Earl’s location. She immediately dashed towards where she heard the pink Precure. She wasn’t there! The general scowled until she heard Earl speak again. So, she was above her!
Tsubasa jumped higher than the mist, immediately spotting Earl on top of the lamp post.
“Found you!” She shouted as she fired a beam of dark energy at the Precure. The fact that she was in a different form didn’t bother the general. She knew she would be unaffected by the Precure’s attack. After all, there were others who had tried before Earl.
Exactly what she wanted.
“Precure Illumination Waltz!”
Even on the small area of the lamppost, Creme Waltz spun gracefully. A brilliant flash of white light emitted from her body, overwhelming the dark energy blast, and sending a blinding light throughout the area. If she could catch this girl off guard by blinding her, even for a little a bit, then Earl would have her opening.

“It probably wasn’t your intention…,” with a hand on her chest, Tamami took a deep breath to calm down, before looking at who she was taking to. “ … but could you please not scare people like that?”
Then she took a closer look at her surroundings, and she couldn’t deny it any longer that the magic bookshelves had worked the way Chuckles had told her they would. Right there, in the distance, was the most famous, and most prominent of the Parisian landmarks, the Eiffel Tower.
“All of this must seem very … “ She was looking for the right word to use, but this was made a bit difficult by the girl that was looking at her. “I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you what’s going on exactly, however much I might want to. And my guess is that you wouldn’t believe me, even if I told you the truth.”
“If you don’t want to be scared, you shouldn’t be sneaking around like that.” Angelique pointed out, looking slightly cross with the girl. The more she talked to her, the less she suspected that she was actually a truly suspicious person, but nevertheless, what exactly did she expect?
Needless to say, her ‘explanation’ such as it was, did not really meet Angelique’s standards.
“Try me.” She said, placing her hands on her hips and looking down at the girl in front of her. “You might be surprised.”
She was, after all, a Precure fighting against the Phantom Empire, after all- not a whole lot of things surprised her anymore.
