Father uses sons’ drawings as inspiration for anime transformations

Wholesome and badass
The father’s artistic talent is clearly on display here, but I’m actually really impressed with this kid’s wild imagination. Many of his drawings are both conceptually unique and coherent.
I can’t do justice to one of the weirdest camp stories I know. My friend tells it so well, and I can offer only a pale shadow of his story.
Last summer, he was working with one of the younger units comprised of ten year old boys. They had spent the night camping on another beach and were just readying themselves to depart. “Make sure you have all your things!” called my friend. “Don’t leave anything behind!”
One small boy came up, dragging a massive tangle of decomposing seaweed behind him. “But… what about me boy?” he asked, lip trembling.
“…what is ‘me boy’?”
The child held up the stinking wad of bull kelp. “This is him. This is Me Boy.”
“Me Boy is not coming back with us,” said his counselor. “You’re going to leave Me Boy behind on the beach where he belongs.”
The campers loudly mourned the loss of Me Boy. They insisted on giving him a Viking burial at sea, which just consisted of pushing him solemnly off the back of the rowboat into the water and watching him drift away in the surf.
That was only the beginning. Me Boy would be back.
The campers, in true camp fashion, possessed some kind of cultic hive-mind and a predisposition for bizarre memes. Me Boy would not be forgotten. They started telling each other stories about Me Boy and how he would one day rise again. There were warring factions with contradicting dogmas about Me Boy. Only when the gardener allowed them to take home a zucchini she had harvested did they find their god, born anew.
Me Boy, The Zucchini That Was A God, became the whole unit’s mascot. The kids would bicker over who got to carry him. They built nests and carriers for Me Boy and brought him to different activities, fiercely defending him from those that would do him harm. One child appointed himself the Voice of Me Boy and would translate the zucchini’s divine wishes into human speech.
It got out of hand. Me Boy had become a distraction, a fixation, a violent controversy. Something had to be done.
My friend, their counselor, took it upon himself to kill Me Boy. The children wailed in despair as he chopped their God into refreshing slices. With this sudden turn of fortune, followers of Me Boy turned to theophagy. “We must eat him to preserve his power!” they cried. Boys who would otherwise never have touched a vegetable ate greedily of this sacrament, eager to let Me Boy live on within them.
For a time, it seemed that peace and order had been restored, and the religion had already faded into its silver age. But only for a time.
In the last few days of camp, the religion of Me Boy splintered into several denominations. Every meal yielded new vegetable matter said to be a reincarnation of Me Boy, only for opposing groups to dismiss these as false prophets. Some believed that Me Boy was gone. Others believed his spirit lived on, intangible, omnipresent. Some believed he had found a new vessel inside a carrot, a pear, a slice of cantaloupe… even inside a child. There was chaos, and strife, and heartbreak without the guidance of Me Boy.
Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish children during the Christmas season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts. Krampus is said to capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair.
Lovely.
What a punch
This is assault and illegal. He may spew nothing but bile but his right to free speech must be protected
Ain’t nobody throwing him in prison, so his freedom of speech isn’t being violated.
Also, learn what speech is exempt from it, like, for instance, fighting words. Words that by their very utterance inflict injury, and speech that incites an immediate breach of the peace, kind of like, yknow, saying you want to exterminate all of their kind of people. Basically, talk shit get hit is 100% protected.
I swear people that yell about Freeze Peach have no idea what it means. If you provoke someone and then they act on that provication, then it’s on you, not them.
ALWAYS REBLOG NAZIS GETTING PUNCHED OUT
Law does not equal morality. Laws are literally made up. It was illegal to protect Jews in Germany during ww2. Thankfully, people think outside of the law sometimes.
If you’re willing to deal with the consequences Anything is Possible even punching a Nazi
reblog for 50 years of good luck
Also he is technically asaulting every non-Nazi he comes across (not battery) sense they would have a reasonable fear for bodily damage or death.
Of which him proudly displaying he is a Nazi would very much entail

Queer Film recs
Im sick of dated lists that feature depressing as fuck films, are super porn-y or are just old films with queer undertones. So here is my list of Queer Films (that I have personally watched) that span across decades, mainstream, indie, Netflix, romantic, friendship, gay, bi, poly, and a wide variety of genres. (also no one asked for this list but here u fuckin go. buckle up buttercups)
Call Me By Your Name (2017) do i even need to say anything about it? An absolute must see!!!!
Moonlight (2016) love love love Oscar winner 2017
Carol (2015) y’all already know about my 1950′s lesbians
4th Man Out (2014) Such a good light-hearted comedy. A car mechanic in a small town comes out to his group of best friends. !Guys supporting guys! and being loving and tactile and supporting eachother.
Maurice (1987) okay this one really gets me riled up because it took so long for me to hear about it?? IT. Is. A GAY. PERIOD. DRAMA. FROM 1987. This film was years ahead of its time??!. Also?? It started HUGH GRANT’S CAREER??. (side note: the director was the screenplay writer for Call Me By Your Name) (2nd side note: there are zero undertones. its all shown)
Shelter (2007): my two surfer dudes. Zach’s college dreams get sidelined by family obligations (he is helping raise his sister’s son) and he falls in love with his best friend’s brother. HAPPY ENDING. Movie budget is zero dollars. Acting = cheesy. But I love this film and it’s ending. can watch on loop
As You Are (2016). A complex relationship between three teenagers. Stars Charlie Heaton, Amandla Stenberg and Owen Campbell. (gay/bi/poly). I cried at the end sorry. (such a gorgeous movie trailer too X)
Jongens {Boys} (2014, Dutch film). About two gay teen athletes. its super cute okay. 10/10
Kyss Mig {Kiss Me} (2011, Swedish film). A woman engaged to be married has an affair with her soon-to-be stepmother’s lesbian daughter. (i bet you pulled a face after reading that)
Heavenly Creatures (1994). OKAY SETTLE DOWN KIDS. Where do I start. DIRECTED BY PETER JACKSON (pre LOTR) Staring Kate Winslet and Melanie Lynskey THEIR FIRST EVER FILM ROLE. Its about two girls who form an obsessive (and loving) relationship and share a passion of fantasy, imagination, and literature. They then set out for revenge when their parents try to separate them. BASED ON A MOTHERFUCKING TRUE STORY. (fun fact: Kate Winslets first on-screen kiss) This film had me hooked from start to finish.
The Handmaiden (2016) {Korean/Japanese film}. A woman is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but secretly she is involved in a plot to defraud her. This is a super intense film. Very graphic sex scenes to say the least. But an absolutely stunning piece of cinema to watch. Plot twists!!
Handsome Devil (2016) An irish boarding school film. The Out loner and the star athlete form an unlikely friendship. This is a beautiful film all about friendship and being true to yourself, acceptance etc. No romance!.
Alexander (2004) Okay so technically this is just an average History/Action film. However if you watch the extended cut you will get all the scenes. Alexander the Great WAS BISEXUAL. And 100% in love with his best friend. Basically Colin Farrell and Jared Leto making heart eyes and declaring their love for eachother. Also chronicles his other affairs with both men and women.
Threesome (1994) Title really says it all. In University, two dudes share a 3 room dorm, and due to a bureaucratic error, a woman gets added to their room. Follows one year and the development of their relationship.
Brokeback Mountain (2005) You all know what this is. PAIN. AND SUFFERING. For my two bisexual sheep herders. 10/10 for crying
Design for Living (1933). I can hear all of you now. but Bella. A queer film in 1933? Are you sure?. Plot: “a woman cannot decide between two men who love her, and the trio agree to try living together in a platonic friendly relationship” . a little bit of read between the lines but wow poly in 1933.
Pride (2014) based on the true story of how U.K gay activists worked to help coal miners during their lengthy strike in the summer of 1984. A comedy/drama. Gay solidarity!! Has a very well known cast.
Atomic Blonde (2017) female bisexual james bond. the spy plot is a bit boring.
Closet Monster (2015) a creative and driven teenager is desperate to escape his hometown and the haunting memories of his turbulent childhood. Note: some graphic imagery that some might find distressing. Trailer (x)
Hurricane Bianca (2016) A comedy staring famous drag queen Bianca Del Rio! (and others). A New York teacher, who moves to small town Texas where he’s fired for being gay, returns disguised as a mean lady to get revenge on the nasty town.
I Love You Phillip Morris (2009) Starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. A cop turns into a con man once he comes out of the closet. He leads an extravagant lifestyle. In prison he meets the love of his life, and will stop at nothing to be with him. It’s a quirky outrageous comedy with lots of breaking in and out of prison. BASED ON A REAL STORY.
Mystère à la Tour Eiffel (2015) French tv movie. You might have seen the hugely famous tumblr post about it. Daughter of one of the architects who built the Eiffel Tower gets framed for a murder and so her and her girlfriend embark on a quest across Paris. HAPPY ENDINGGGG.
Jenny’s Wedding (2015) Katherine Heigl and Alexis Bledel. Jenny is openly gay to everyone except her family. It mostly follows the family and their dealing with their daughter coming out. Average film. Doesn’t really have anything to do with romance EVEN THO SHE IS GETTING MArRIED.
////Dishonourable Mentions////
Naked as we Came (2012) this film goes nowhere and is stupid
My Own Private Idaho (1991) definitely understand the importance of the film at the time. Didn’t like it tho
Spa Night (2016) excellent directorial debut. Not really the queer film I thought it was going to be.
First Girl I Loved (2016) Some people may like it. I thought each character was unlikeable. It was too highschool bitch drama for me.
Savages (2012) Definitely a wild ride of a film.
////Films I hope to see soon////
Princess Cyd (2017) Eager to escape life with her depressive single father, 16-year-old athlete Cyd Loughlin visits her novelist aunt in Chicago over the summer. While there, she falls for a girl…..
God’s Own Country (2017) Spring. Yorkshire. Young farmer Johnny Saxby numbs his daily frustrations with binge drinking and casual sex, until the arrival of a Romanian migrant worker for lambing season ignites an intense relationship that sets Johnny on a new path.
Thelma (2017) - A confused religious girl tries to deny her feelings for a female friend who’s in love with her. This causes her suppressed subconsciously-controlled psychokinetic powers to reemerge as seizures with devastating results. (aka if Norwegian Carrie was a lesbian)
*cracks knuckles*
August (2011) - August tells the story of two former lovers, Troy and Jonathan, who reunite after a long-ago painful breakup. After spending several years in Spain, Troy returns to Los Angeles and decides to phone Jonathan and meet for coffee. A seemingly innocent rendezvous turns into an attempt to revive passions past. Only this time it’s not that simple, as Jonathan has a new beau, Raul, and is trying to make the right decision a second time around.
Lazy Eye (2016) - Passions re-ignite and secrets revealed when a graphic designer reconnects with the great, lost love of his life for a weekend tryst at a house in the desert near Joshua Tree.
Test (2013) - In 1985, a gay dance understudy hopes for his on-stage chance while fearing the growing AIDS epidemic.
Five Dances (2013) - The coming of age tale of an extraordinarily gifted young dancer recently arrived in New York City. Beautiful soundtrack selections.
Out in the Dark (2012) - A drama centered on the love affair between two men on opposite sides of the Mid-East conflict: Palestinian student Nimer and Roy, an Israeli lawyer.
Weekend (2011) - After a drunken house party with his straight mates, Russell heads out to a gay club. Just before closing time he picks up Glen but what’s expected to be just a one-night stand becomes something else, something special. Beautifully shot and very realistic, reminds me a bit of the Before Sunrise trilogy. Not necessarily a romance but very gorgeous.
Soldier’s Girl (2003) - The true story of the price a young soldier paid for falling in love with a transgender night-club performer. Read the full synopsis for possible trigger warnings.
Freier Fall/Free Fall (2013) - A soon-to-be-father policeman falls for a gay fellow officer and his life starts falling apart. Stars Max Riemelt (Sense8). Talks of a sequel in the works. German subs.
The Vintner’s Luck (aka A Heavenly Vintage) (2009) - One summer night in 1808, Sobran Jodeau sets out to drown his love sorrows in his family’s vineyard when he stumbles on an angel. Once he gets over his shock, Sobran decides that Xas, the male angel, is his guardian sent to counsel him on everything from marriage to wine production. But Xas turns out to be a far more mysterious character. Based on Elizabeth Knox’s book of the same name. (The movie was crap compared to the novel, which I can’t recommend enough.) Stars Gaspard Ulliel and Vera Farmiga; directed by Niki Caro. French subs.
Stranger By the Lake (2013) - Summertime. A cruising spot for men, tucked away on the shores of a lake. Franck falls in love with Michel, an attractive, potent and lethally dangerous man. Franck knows this but wants to live out his passion anyway. French subtitles. Don’t watch this with your momma because it’s basically porn very French. Unless your momma likes that kind of thing.
Edge of Seventeen (1998) - No, the other Edge of Seventeen. A teenager copes with his sexuality on the last day of school in 1984. It shows him coping with being gay and being with friends.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001) - (How has no one else added this?) A transgender punk-rock girl from East Berlin tours the U.S. with her band as she tells her life story and follows the former lover/band-mate who stole her songs. Stars John Cameron Mitchell, who wrote and starred in the original musical.
Shortbus (2006) - A group of New Yorkers caught up in their romantic-sexual milieu converge at an underground salon infamous for its blend of art, music, politics, and carnality. Also written by John Cameron Mitchell. Experiments with unsimulated sex scene, so probably also not a good choice for family movie night with your nan and gramps.
A Home At the End of the World (2004) - A boy who has experienced many losses in his life grows to manhood and enters into a love triangle with a woman and his boyhood friend. Stars Colin Farrell and Robin Wright. Written by Michael Cunningham, adapted from his book. Bonus tip: Hannibal fans might recognize some of the filming locations.
Mysterious Skin (2004) - A teenage hustler and a young man obsessed with alien abductions cross paths, together discovering a horrible, liberating truth. Stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Read the synopsis for possible trigger warnings.
Angels In America (2003) - Based on one of the greatest plays ever written. Playwright Tony Kushner adapts his political epic about the AIDS crisis during the mid-eighties, around a group of separate but connected individuals. Stars Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Justin Kirk, Emma Thompson, and everyone else you love.
G.B.F. (2013) - What happens after Tanner is outed by his classmates and becomes the title “gay best friend” for three high school queen bees? This movie is way cuter than it has any right to be.
My Summer of Love (2004) - Lesbian dramas that aren’t overtly cheesy (e.g. “And Then Came Lola”) or ridiculously sexualized (e.g. “Room in Rome”) are few and far between. “My Summer of Love,” on the other hand is a believable unsettling romance about romance, trust and betrayal. It also features solid performances from Emily Blunt and Natalie Press.
The Kids Are All Right (2014) - Stars Julianne Moore and Annette Bening as a married lesbian couple with two children. When the two teenage kids decided to find their sperm donor, played by Mark Ruffalo, their entire family unit becomes disrupted. Great portrayal of a relatable lesbian couple with familiar family tensions.
Those People (2015) - On Manhattan’s gilded Upper East Side, a young gay painter is torn between an obsession with his infamous socialite best friend and a promising new romance with an older foreign concert pianist.
The Normal Heart (2014) - Technically an HBO movie. A gay activist attempts to raise H.I.V. and A.I.D.S. awareness during the early 1980s. Stars Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, and Jonathon Groff.
The Way He Looks (2013) - Leonardo is a blind teenager searching for independence. His everyday life, the relationship with his best friend, Giovana, and the way he sees the world change completely with the arrival of Gabriel. One of the sweetest queer movies I’ve ever seen. Portuguese subs.
Christopher and His Kind (2011) - How real-life British-American author Christopher Isherwood and his German boyfriend Heinz met and fell in love during the 1930s and the rise of Nazism. TV movie. Stars Matt Smith.
Yves Saint Laurent (2011) - A look at the life of French designer Yves Saint Laurent from the beginning of his career in 1958 when he met his lover and business partner, Pierre Berge. Stars Gaspard Ulliel.
A Single Man (2009) - An English professor, one year after the sudden death of his boyfriend, is unable to cope with his typical days in 1960s Los Angeles. Stars Colin Firth, Matthew Goode, Nicholas Hoult, and Julianne Moore. Gorgeous cinematography. Directed by Tom Ford, so you’ll want to lick the clothing.
Brideshead Revisited (2008) - A poignant story of forbidden love and the loss of innocence set in England prior to the Second World War. Stars Ben Whishaw, Hayley Atwell, Matthew Goode, and Emma Thompson.
Lilting (2014) - A young man of Chinese-Cambodian descent dies, leaving behind his isolated mother and his partner of four years, who grieve but don’t speak a lick of each other’s language. Stars Ben Whishaw and Pei-Pei Cheng. Beautiful film. You will cry.
Ess said she’ll divorce me if this isn’t on the list, so here’s another for old time’s sake:
Velvet Goldmine (1998) - Glam rock star Brian Slade plays a character on stage named Maxwell Demon who predicts his death on stage. Shortly after he announces his prediction, he fakes his own death and is exposed as a fraud. A decade later in 1984, a reporter and former fan, Arthur Stuart, tracks down the former rocker to do an article on his life and downfall. Arthur interviews the man who discovered Slade and a peer to understand Slade’s motivations. Stars Ewan McGregor, Christian Bale, Toni Colette, and Jonathan Rhys Myers. Loosely based on Bowie’s early career and his Ziggy Stardust years.
The Handmaiden is my favorite movie of all time!! So good, so emotionally riveting, sooooo beautifully shot.
Also - CLOUDBURST. It’s about two old lesbians who have been together for years, but the daughter of one of the women doesn’t recognize their partnership and tries to send her aging mother to a nursing home. The partner breaks her out and they go on an epic roadtrip fleeing the law and the possibility of being separated, picking up an interesting hitchhiker along the way. It’s so moving and also hysterically funny.
Reblogging to add SUICIDE KALE , a dark comedy starring mostly POC women, showing an afternoon lunch party between two couples that goes awry when the guests end up learning a little more about their friend’s relationship than they planned on. True indie cinema at its finest (this is what a micro budget films looks like) with a cast and crew of all women, this film won a bunch of indie cinema awards when it came out a couple years ago and it’s streaming on amazon, iTunes and Vimeo.
I’m surprised no one mentioned that The Handmaiden movie is the korean version of the Fingersmith mini-series (which is an adaptation of one of Sarah Waters’ super lesbian books) made in 2005. I recommend it!
Are straight white people okay????
What is this?!
People like this exist. Interesting.
this story has a part 2
THERE IS A PART 3 WITH GUEST RESPONSES I REPEAT THERE IS A PART 3 THIS IS NOT A DRILL
I thought things couldn’t get more horrifyingly amusing than the woman who wanted people to pay $1000 each to go to her wedding so she could “feel like a Kardashian for a day” and had a Facebook breakdown about it saying she was gonna go backpacking in Peru to “find herself” after being “betrayed” by her friends who didn’t want to partake but here we are
I thought it was the same person ngl.
I’m in the wedding shaming group and saw both this and the Peru post before it went viral. Love it.
THERE’S AN UPDATE
