I was looking for cool mushrooms to draw so I did a Google search for ‘cool mushroom’ and
everybody is reblogging this and just saying “same” or “me” in the tags and I can’t stop laughing
Reblog if you've ever yelled at a book.
Are there people who don’t reblog this?
I can only assume that the ones who haven’t aren’t reading the right books.
FUCKING BOOKS.
If it doesn’t make you mad, it’s not good enough.
I NEVER KNEW THE REASON THE NEPHEWS WERE LEFT WITH SCROOGE WAS BECAUSE DONALD HAD TO LITERALLY GO OFF WITH THE NAVY LIKE
I THOUGHT THE SAILOR GET UP WAS FOR SHOW IT DIDN’T OCCUR TO ME THAT DONALD WAS WITH THE US ARMED FORCES
#thank you donald for keeping our country safe
He also fought in the war, hence is short temper. No joke, Disney confirmed this in a fucking comic of Donald sleep walking then being woke up by firecrackers which he believes is mines in a mine field. No joke.
The US government promoted donald duck to the rank of sergeant and gave him an honorable discharge from the military in 1984 in honor of his (animated propaganda) participation in WWII
my history of animation professor told us that he had to fill out special forms to look at and recieve donald duck’s us military history, at which point he mentioned how he had to take a step back from his life and question all of his choices
Merlin writers: You know what, running away together is always sweet and so romantic, let's use that trope
Merlin writers: *uses trope on basically every canon couple on show*
Arthur: I was thinking about running away to be a farmer...
Gwen: *yes yes yes this is the running away trope zomg it's gonna be sooooo romantic, we're having a picnic and he's going to ask me to run awa--*
Arthur: Of course I'd take Merlin with me.

Do you ever start telling your parents a funny story but then you remember that it involves queer things and you’re not out to your parents

I hate it when people expect a bio or info on your character. Why? If you were in real life you’d have to learn about them as you go, there are no sneak peeks at life. You want to know about the character? Get off your lazy ass and ask the character yourself, stop taking short cuts.
Out of hiding:
Okay I’m sorry but no. This is a website for fun, inspiration and just a way to get away from REAL LIFE. A stress reliever if you will. THIS IS NOT REAL LIFE nor would it ever be. This is here to have fun, meet people and so on. If you call making info pages, background stories, ideas, mental impact and so on for your character’s development that more than likely you won’t even get the chance to even fucking ask or rp with a short cut and lazy? Then obvious your the lazy one here. Not everyone on this website or in the rp community can be on this here 24/7. People have lives and other things to do. They can’t sit here and play 600,000 fucking questions from you so you can know their fucking character when all you have to do is take 10 minutes to read the info they provided for you.
Yes, there is benefit from learning as you go but a lot characters—especially well developed characters have a lot of info, a lot of things on them. No one said you can’t do both. RPing helps bring that info that your read on your character to life! OCs, don’t have the info that canon characters do so you can’t just fucking guess about it. THAT’S ASSUMING AND LIKE THE REAL LIFE, NO ONE FUCKING LIKES IT. Even canon characters have different things info—mind set wise, strengths, weaknesses and so on—things canon facts don’t tell you. People take the time and effort to write some of this stuff down for YOUR benefit, they already know their character and how they function, you fucking don’t! If you wanna call it lazy, call it short cuts then fine go ahead. However you just don’t see the benefits from it which makes you lazy—if you can’t take the time from your ‘busy’ schedule and read their pages because….why? Your too fucking lazy to read all the material? Or are you just so ignorant about seeing something beneficial for YOU. Its not lazy—a short cut sure but not fucking lazy.
Outofviruses
The above form of logic ( if you can even call it that) is not okay at all. I am supposed to believe that the WORK it takes on making a CONSISTENT biography for a character, whether it be headcanons, a dossier, statistics, or what have you is being lazy? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? First of all this isn’t REAL LIFE, this is roleplaying.
Roleplaying is where your build a world or a story to be told with your character and others. This is an activity that transcends that of the natural world that we live in because we are the writers, scripters and directors of those worlds. You can’t have a story or a world to build on without a backstory. The idea that you can build on something without a backstory is ignorant. To call someone lazy for wanting to know about a character that is being played is most idiotic thing I have ever came across in all my damn days.
It seems apparent that you don’t know the difference between Meta Roleplaying and Character Development. To have the about pages it shows that you have put time and work into developing your character. That you have taken something whether it be an original character or a canon character, and put your own passion into it. It shows that you have actual put the effort into understanding and taking something and making it your own. This is for both canon and OCs. Pages, shows that you have put forth the energy into making something come to life, it shows that you give a damn about what your roleplay as. Backstories show how your character has grown, progressed, the faults, their loves their pains. IT SHOWS THEIR LIFE THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN THEM. That is the greatest accomplishment a writer can have.
Without an about page, I do not have any clue if I want my character to be apart of your characters world. I BE DAMNED if I am going to have my muse waste their time and play 21 fucking questions just to figure out if my muse would even be interested in talking to yours. That is a waste of my fucking time. I’m not going to waste my time with a pointless interaction only to find out that my character wouldn’t even given yours a second glance. Fuck that. If there is an about page I can see for myself what type of character yours is and what kind of things they may or may not be about. If it seems interesting (that is a IF) , I would propose that we roleplay and I would have an plot in mind where THEN our muses could then be introduced and get to know each other.
Trust me I would rather rp with a Leroy the Panda from the Land of Who Fucking Knows Where and his neverending quest for the Sword of Give No Fucks, if he had a about page sooner than I would any canon character that everyone knows with no backstory to call their own on their page.
I PROMISE YOU ,when I come to blogs that don’t have at the very least an about page AND they aren’t a new blog, I fucking hit the GTFO button and navigate away. The first thing I think is LAZY. So for you to say that it’s lazy for someone to create pages for the purpose of having them read so that a person can understand the character they will be interacting with is as ignorant as they come. The only time you’ll see me interact with someone that does not have an about page is more than likely I spoke with them OOC and I like the mun to an extent enough to feel as if I can trust that they have a worthwhile character or I was recommended by a friend to interact with said person, which said person is able to give me a scope on their character. OR this is the more common one, my friend makes a character and hasn’t put up the about page yet cause it’s new and will put one up soon. THAT IS IT.
This seems like the type of “oh let’s them met and go with the flow" sort of things. No. That is LAZY, That is a shortcut for not wanting to read pages that have been made for plotting and background. THAT type of rping and logic is complete utter bullshit! Come in my inbox or in my skype with that bullshit chances are I’ll be nice and give you a plot, since your were too lazy to come up with one yourself OR tell you to read my pages when you clearly didn’t OR I’ll say okay then IMMEDIATELY GET FUCKING BORED AND MOVE ON TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO PUTS IN THE EFFORT TO RP WITH ME OR flat out tell you NO. That’s what kinda logic I get from this form of thinking.
If any of my followers think it’s LAZY or it’s a shortcut to have about pages, or that pages are unneeded THEN PLEASE FUCKING UNFOLLOW ME and I will not waste my time with that form of thinking.
{ outofmagic }
So… I have seen this post like 16 times on my dash today (yes, I’m exaggerating, but I have seen it at least four times) and I have to say that the original comment submitted to roleplayingconfessions is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard.
Yes. The. Most. Ignorant. Ideology. I. Have. Ever. Heart.
Firstly, you mean to tell me that because I have a biography for Loki that is over 3,000 words long that explains his life before MCU canon comes into play, and explains why he’s done the things he’s done and who he is, that is LAZY? You mean to tell me that I have a stats page that is almost 2,000 words long detailing what my muse is, what he can do, and what you should expect from him, THAT IS LAZY? Because I have lists of detailed headcanons from the MCU and my own personal ideas about Loki that THIS IS FUCKING LAZY?
Not only is this incorrect, but it’s insulting.
There is not a character in any video game, movie, novel, play, or any other form of story telling that does not have a backstory and some sort of solid, written biography. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. In order to write a script or a novel or anything else, the character is given a profile. They’re given history. They’re given a personality. They’re given an identity. They’re given traits that make them who they are. This isn’t laziness, this is character development. Every single character should have this and just because other characters (other muses) aren’t going to know about most of these details, it’s important for us, as the writers, the readers, and the viewers to know these qualities.
What is RPing to you? Is it just two muses sitting down and playing twenty questions? Because, to me, that’s fucking boring. Yes, it’s important for characters to get to know each other and ask these questions, but if that is literally all your RPs are, then I have no interest in RPing with you. I want a story. I want an actual solid story that involves our muses. It’s great to have those mundane RPs where they’re just getting to know each other or go get coffee or whatever, but there needs to be a story. If every single RP you have is just playing twenty question so my muse can learn about your muse and so I—the mun—can learn about your muse because you were too god damned lazy to write a biography about your muse, I have literally no interest in RPing with you.
I am not going to drag my character through an interaction phase just to see if he wants to continue interacting and to see if I want to continue interacting. That is a waste of my time, just like harbingerofumbrella said. DEVELOPING YOUR CHARACTER IS NOT LAZY. DEVELOPING YOUR CHARACTER IS NOT A SHORT CUT. HAVING THIS INFORMATION IS NOT POINTLESS. IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF WRITING. This is a writer’s accomplishment. Your character is your child. Without this important information your character isn’t a person, your character isn’t a character.
The first thing I look for when I go to an RP blog is an about page. If that blog doesn’t have one, I usually won’t look any further. Why? Because, to me, as someone who has multiple muses and is a writer outside of RP, it is sad to see a character that doesn’t have any development. Why? Because, to me, it seems like the writer doesn’t care enough about that character to develop them.
I run a canon character blog, obviously. Loki is a canon Marvel character, but he’s not only Marvel. He’s a mythological God. He appears in numerous forms of media and each representation of him is different because everyone has different ideas about him. GUESS WHAT? MY LOKI IS DIFFERENT TOO! Loki’s life as far as Marvel is concerned only really revolves around his appearances in MCU which, need I remind you, started in 2011. What about the other thousand years of his life? Well, I’ve compiled various myths to create his backstory, meaning he’s not just Marvel but also myth based. Wanna know what else? There are things unique to my Loki because they are my own ideas. My Loki will never be a carbon copy of any other Loki and he is mine alone.
So yes, even canon characters need this development and effort. If not, then are you really writing your own muse or are you just trying to copy what’s already been written?
I’m going to stop ranting before this becomes too long. I’ve left the two reblogged comments because I agree with them wholeheartedly.
If me having a detailed biography for my character is lazy, clearly all of my writing professors have been teaching me wrong all these years. Wonder how they managed to become television, film, and novel writers when they’re so misinformed about how to write? Weird, huh?
I started off on tumblr with fandoms and ships and all that shit and now I’m just a walking existential crisis of feministic rage and memes I don’t totally understand what even happened

the drum is filled with hot steam and then sprayed with cold water. the pressure on the outside of the drum is far more than inside. the pressures try to maintain and find balance taking the drum as a casualty.
“Oh FUCK that’s cold!”
when youre in the shower and someone flushes the toilet
My Chemistry teacher did this the first day of class with a coke can, a hotplate, and a basin of water. I have never forgotten the scientific principles behind it, and here’s why.
There were 20-something of us in the classroom, all dying of sleep deprivation since it was the first day back to school, first class of the day. Mr. Moses was that teacher you weren’t sure how to deal with. I mean, the man’s name was Noah Eugene Moses, for starters. He drove a Harley to school, but also drove the bus. He had giant cokebottle glasses and a doofy mustache with shaggy ex-Beatles hair. He always wore suspenders and a grease-stained t-shirt because he had a potbelly and taught the shop/electrical classes. He wasn’t even really lecturing; he was throwing in tidbits of the syllabus in the midst of bad jokes and fun stories. We were all a bit nervous, because none of us had taken a class from him before, but his tests were legendary—nobody had ever made it out with an A (until I did, but that’s another story for another time and involves a really awesome bet and some hair cutting scissors).
Well, as we were fighting to stay awake, and attempting to take notes of whatever he was talking about, he was pacing around the room from here to there, straightening things and moving stuff. He was very scatterbrained, and it was easy to tell from how he kept forgetting where he put his coke. Turns out, that was just a ruse. He had the can filled with just a tiny bit of water, and the things he was moving around were stacks of papers and books hiding the hot plate and water basin. So he set his coke can down onto the hot plate, continued talking loudly enough so we wouldn’t hear the water boiling, and then knocked it over really fast into the water basin.
BANG!!!!!!!!
Three girls fell out of their seats, one dude swore so violently I’m pretty sure the devil himself cringed, everyone at least jumped and screamed, and I actually broke my pen in half.
See, with rapid decompression comes a vacuum, and with a vacuum comes a rushing of air that creates a massive sound. Think “thunder”. That’s the same principle behind it. His little tiny coke can of steam into a bucket of ice water, and we had a bang so loud the band teacher came in from across the hall to see “what was exploding today.” To which Mr. Moses responded, “Nothing, it imploded. Explosions are chapter 3.”
And that’s when I knew it was going to be the best class ever.
