Thank you 💖 But... The way I view it, Joan is not evil. Her intent is not to harm Reese, though, unfortunately, her actions end up doing so. She was led astray by Sybil after finding no solid, concrete answers as to why Reese beasts out like he does. Was it handled poorly? Yes. Is she a bad person for it? No. She did what she was told was a solution, and while it solved that problem, it created a new one. The way I read into it, she was probably worried that he had the potential to harm, and hell, be killed for it if he acted as such. Should she have trusted her own son to not harm others? Yes. But it wasn't a black and white scenario. Deep down, she loves Reese, did what she thought was best for everyone and for him even if in the end he was isolated and destroyed their relationship.
