Alaska’s economic development agency plans Mat-Su industrial park, with data centers

The 30-square-mile parcel of state land sits just outside Houston city limits.

Submit official public comment in response to a public notice involving Alaska Division of Mining, Land, and Water.

If you live in AK pls comment about this land grab to build data centers in Huston. They did not even tell the MAYOR. Huston is all unspoiled forests with no industrial laws or regulations and not to dox myself but I do NOT live far away from there.

I wanted to use what ‘reach’ I may have here to share the Carolina Wildlife Center’s urgent plea for donations. If they are unable to raise $75,000 to cover ongoing and future care of their wildlife patients, the center will have to close July 20th, 2026. The services provided by CWC to the community are incredibly valuable, and without them, many wild animals will suffer without the care they need.

I don’t think people truly understand the scope of the damage Sony is about to do to physical media. They literally invented the compact disc. They are the reason why Blu-ray as a format won the HD wars over HD-DVD. They have gargantuan influence over manufacturing disc-based media. If Sony as a company stops making physical media for their next gen gaming consoles, this is going to affect movies and music as well. If you buy CDs, DVDs, or Blu-rays, those are next on the chopping block.
