Shigaraki needed an Ingenium
Welcome to me making an small essay on my hero academia. This show has become one of my biggest interest and the writing on it is nothing short but great. Now onto the essay itself.
Manga spoilers ahead!
Shigaraki needed an Ingenium. What does that even mean? It's simple. Someone like Tensei Iida could've been the turning point for Tomura Shigaraki.
Right off the bat the second we dig into who Tensei Iida was. This is one of the first panels that sticks out.
Tensei Iida whole idealism as a hero was to help people. Not because he wanted fame although he halfly jokes about it to Tenya before quickly changing course but this isn't a one time thing. Even the author of vigilantes makes it a point to point out the kinda of person Ingenium was to the reader.
The author makes it a point that- This is his opinion. This is what being an hero is too him. To help people especially children as fast as he can to comfort them because they are all scared and panicked in the end. This is a character who unlike all might doesn't want to change society as a whole but in small ways like the individuals themselves.
Because like Horikoshi and Alan Moore stated in both their works, "All it takes is one bad day."
Now what does this have to do with Tomura Shigaraki?
It has everything to do with Tomura. At first Tomura doesn't seem to have a backstory when you first meet him. He will continue to not have that backstory until a certain arc that turned him to a meh character to an amazing one! The metalibartion arc is when you first get word on what it is with his fight with redestro.
My hero academia has always made it a point to work on society. On how society handles everything and how the commercialize hero world has all made everyone dependent on heroes. When Tomura destorys his family because of his quirk the first thing that happens is; He's a lost scared child.
This isn't just some little boy who got lost on the streets. This is a little boy who is terrifed and truly alone and what does society decide to do?
An hero will come to save you. No one came to help Tenko when he was alone and scared. No one wanted to help this little boy all on his own. He's dirty. Disturbing. Falling apart and society so easily casted the child away because heroes will come and save the day.
When the whole world has decided that Tenko wasn't worth it. There was only one other person who reached out to this scared child. Who does that happen to be? The lord of evil himself.
There was time to save Tomura from his destruction. There was time to help Tenko from being that lost child but no one came from him. No hero dared to save the child. When a child is casted away from the village they will certainly find saisfiction in it's embers.
Tomura could've been saved. He could've been a better person if there were people like Ingenium. If there were people who decided that a lost child was worth helping in the end.
That's why those guys were the coolest to Tensei because it saved lost children.
unrelated but the colouring is my favourite part about this. it’s so soft and pretty 😔

Iida isn’t here because he’s working in a personal project, or something.
Probably we shouldn’t worry about it.

Concept: You walk outside one night and notice that there are two full moons. A few hours go by and they don’t seem to move.
You stare up at them.
They blink.
You blink back. It’s only polite to return the greeting of the Big Night Cat.
I meant for this to be all spooky and ominous, but fuck it, this is way better. I love the Big Night Cat. She is beautiful. I support her.
hand slipped so heres a gif

Stain didn’t know that Tensei was the kind of hero Stain approved of, Tensei wasn’t a hero for his own gain, wealth or money but because he actually wanted to help people and that makes me so sad.
