If anyone is wondering why these very greedy people are taking a teeny tiny 30% cut, it’s because they’ll be able to reach a much much wider network of sims players. the community seems very big when you’re in it (and it is) but there are millions of players worldwide who are completely removed from anything that’s going on here and will be paying for this shit. so whilst they may look extremely stupid on the surface (respectfully), there is actually major financial incentive behind this
$2.49 for three pixel lipsticks. I can't lie you're high-key greedy AND a fool to participate in this level of late stage capitalism to get absolutely ripped off LMAAOOO.
I honestly think this will hurt creators in the long run. Why should I bother paying for your patreon when you're perma paywalling content I would have gotten for my support before this? This will only inspire more to use dollhouse mafia and rebels and I don't blame them.
The reason companies use in game currency is to manipulate you into buying more and making it harder to track how much you've spent.
Let's make a pretend currency like "Meela" to use for an example. Let's say $7.50 buys 10 Meela, and say you want something that costs 8 Meela. How much actual money does that thing you want cost? You might think you have to do fractions to figure this out and the math is too frustrating but the answer is simple. It costs $7.50.
So in this example you have 2 Meela left, but everything costs 4 Meela or more. To keep from feeling like those 2 Meela are going to waste you pay another $7.50 to buy 10 more Meela just so you can spend the 2 Meela you purchased previously. Now instead of spending $7.50 for the thing you wanted originally you've spent $15, twice that.
This is intentional and there's a reason why this tactic is used more often with games that target kids/a young audience (like the sims 4) or mobile games that encourage impulsiveness.
EA knows all this because they have a loooooong history of testing out predatory tactics with both The Sims franchise and FIFA. They know in game currency is harder to track and easier to impulse buy. They know players will spend more on currency to get rid of a remainder they can't spend. They have done this before, studied it, and built these systems. They are baiting us so they can feed on us.

⚙️ EUREKA! I figured it out! I can now create custom filters in CAS for just about anything. This is going to ruin my life… but maybe it'll make The Sims 4 a little more tolerable for you.

💬 I know a Search Bar would be awesome, but it would require Scale Form GFX modifications that are beyond my current capabilities. At one point in time, TwistedMexi was working on something similar to Better BuildBuy but for CAS. I have no idea if it was ever finished. For now, this is the best that I can give you.

For all intents and purposes, this is a "community project". I am willing and able to create and maintain the required override, the hundreds upon hundreds of unique 9-digit "IDs" for the "TagValueNumber", and the unique Strings, etc., but I can't possibly override every custom CAS item in existence.
Help me make this a reality, and also, keep your fingers crossed that the override doesn't break under the weight of the hundreds unpon hundreds of entries I'm adding to it.
Oh hai, @sims4studioofficial. Can you add a BATCH FIX that <LOOKS THROUGH MY WISH LIST> allows us to add a "SpecialContent" TAG with a custom "TagValueNumber" to a whole folder of CAS mods? Even if you can't get the "CategoryNumber" to copy properly, a BATCH FIX will at least eliminate half the busywork.
🎓 HOW IT DO, PIKACHU:
If you're well-versed in creating or modifying CAS content, all you need to do is add a new TAG to your swatches - you can do just the first swatch, but you should do all swatches - and change the "CategoryNumber" to "127" (without the quotes), and change the "TagValueNumber" to the desired 9-digit "ID".

Additionally, I have created JSON files for every filter.
These JSON files go into your "Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Custom Tags" folder and they add the custom TAGS to the drop-down lists in STUDIO and WAREHOUSE. If you know, you know, but if you don't know, I will explain in the Patreon OP.
The "127" in the JSON filename and TAG name is to remind you to configure your "CategoryNumber" with "127" because S4S is wonky right now. I have/will explain this in the Patreon OP.
