CW: Self-harm, mention of self-harm There was a recent uptick in responses to my old comic about being bullied, and I worried readers may be drawing conclusions about what kind of person bullies and what kind of person is bullied based on a pretty limited slice of information. The reality is a lot less tidy than that, at least it was for me.  If you’re hurting because of something that happened in your past, or you’re a young person going through a tough period, I hope you’ll reach out to the people you trust and/or the resources accessible to you. In appreciation of any 4x ko-fi donation (GBP£12) I’m offering lineart only portraits of your OCs. For 5x ko-fis (£15) I’ll add flat colours. These are reasonably quick and unrefined pieces, an hour or two spent on each. This is an ongoing thing, so you don’t need to rush to grab a slot. This is open to all OCs too! My examples are all Mass Effect or Dragon Age OCs cause that’s what I’ve got, but I’m open to OCs for just about anything as long as they’re mostly human looking*.

To claim a portrait you need to forward the paypal receipt (the email itself or a screenshot) for your ko-fi donation to [email protected] along with the details of your request. I need good clear reference pictures (screenshots, art, faceclaims etc), descriptions of anything not in the images provided and a brief note about how you’d like them depicted (eg. grinning, looking shy, profile view, battle damaged, and so on). Please also include your tumblr username if you’re happy to be tagged in the post when I upload them. I won’t be chasing people who donate but then don’t send an email to get their portrait- follow through is on you! Since these are intended to be very quick there’s no approval and revision process, though I may be able to make some small changes if something is glaringly wrong.

* I am specifying “mostly human looking” because these are supposed to be relatively quick and simple pieces. OCs that require me to figure out a whole new anatomy are unfortunately neither of those. Before you get mad at your partner for not doing what you expect them to do, Stop and ask yourself “have I ever communicated to them that I have this expectation?” If you have not, it’s unfair to expect them to read your mind.

So many arguments are saved by just opening your mouth and saying “hey hun, in the future can you….” Whether its articulating how you like to be loved, supported, or communicated with, you have to open your mouth. Your soul mate (IMO) isn’t the person that just always knows what you need when you need it without you telling them. Your soul mate is the person who hears your needs and thinks “I have no problem doing that because I love this person with my whole heart”

So check your attitude and open your mouth. Closed mouths don’t get fed.
