Not to go "if you have ADHD just go for a run" or anything, but I am so serious if you have ADHD you should regularly go outside, no headphones no phone no nothing and just stand and observe for a while until you've had enough. Not until you get bored, until you've had enough. Drink your coffee without watching tiktok. Have a bath without music. Turn down the volume in your headphones. I cannot overstate how much learning to be bored is cruicial with ADHD. Life is not just about pleasure, no matter what your dysregulated dopamine system thinks, and when you teach your brain to be okay with being bored, then boring tasks stop feeling like torture. By letting yourself be bored you are yoinking your system out of the high/low binary and allow for the highs to feel like actual highs and not just anything that isn't low. I am so serious go literally touch grass. Listen to the sounds in your flat. Stimulate your body the way it was designed. It lowers anxiety and makes you feel like you're real and best of all it's completely free

glass beach - the first glass beach album (2019)

YEAH, YOU LEFT US, LOCKED US IN A BURNING BUILDING. ~ RECORD OF THE WEEK 7/10/26 - 7/17/26

I don't really know where to begin with this album. I adore this album. It's very near and dear to me. And it is one of the albums in my little handful of 10/10's, even after seven years. 'the first glass beach album' is a debut which caught my attention the moment I heard it (and saw the title. it's literally just called "the first glass beach album" like?? its awesome).

Simply put, the album is a lot. Incorporating genres like jazz, power pop, emo, it's a very colorful and perfectly rounded out 60 minute project. At first listen, it was the all of the synth work which stood out to me the most. Every little sound used gave each song such a unique identity, slotting in perfectly with the bright guitars and j's vocals, especially on some of the more bizarre tracks like "(rat castles)." Sometimes I feel as if I've never heard an album quite like this ever before, and I'm not sure if I will again, but that's kinda cool actually. So it's okay.

This pressing is clear vinyl with a blue/red/white splatter, listed as "Clear With Sky, Ruby & Dark Blue Splatter" and limited to 500 copies!! It is INCREDIBLY pleasant. The jacket is great quality, all of the artwork on it is phenomenal. I'm very pleased with the arrangement of the lyrics in the gatefold, and the little photo of the band... it's cute! The inner sleeves are also very nice quality, and I can kind of just repeat what I said for the artwork of the jacket here - It's just as colorful and lively as the music itself, and honestly not something I had expected (but was quite pleased with!!!!!!!!) when initially ordering the vinyl. It came with a 24x24 poster of the album cover which I unfortunately no longer own, and also features the album outtake "color bars" as an unlisted track at the end of side D.

I was 16 when I first heard this album and it's stuck with me hard since then. I've got a lot of very fond memories tied to songs on this album from the winter just before the pandemic (Isn't That Funny)

It's difficult to pick a favorite. But I used to go back to "yoshi's island" a lot, "soft!!!!!!" was one of the first songs I remember really resonating with, and I believe "cold weather" was one of the first songs I heard from the album and had really Stick to me. Of course, each and every single one of the songs are amazingly written and produced and recorded. In contrast to my earlier statement (please now disregard it), it's Impossible to pick a favorite from this album. Thank you for your time.

SWEET TRIP: YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHY (2009)

YOU WILL DRIFT AWAY, AND I WON'T MIND - HERE'S TO YOU. ~ RECORD OF THE WEEK 6/26/26 - 7/3/26

Sweet Trip's 2009 album "You Will Never Know Why" is a project I became fairly attached to at the end of 2022 leading into the beginning of 2023. It followed a 3 year hiatus of songwriting from the band. When I first heard this album, I hadn't heard any of the band's previous work, so it was a fresh first impression of a new band. I adore the perfectly balanced blend of synths and guitar usage, with it being stated that one of the two band members had used the hiatus to improve his guitar playing in preparation for recording once again - for times like recording this project.

The cover was controversial with the band. It was stated that the razor had been drawn up after much indecision on what to do for the cover, and the album was shipped out like that - but both band members expressed a distaste for the self-harm imagery. Despite this, it was the album cover that initially drew me in and made me curious to see what could possibly be underneath the visage of a razor blade... I was pleasantly surprised with it. When the remaster of the album was released in 2021, a brand new cover was issued with it to better fit the band's vision and move away from the previous unsavory imagery.

This variant is a green marble, called "Fluffy Little Cloud" as per the record label's website. I purchased this variant off of Discogs, and despite it not being the variant that I was hoping to receive (this variant was listed under another, DIFFERENTLY COLORED variant? For some reason??), it's still a very nice color - the marbling is much more obvious on the second disc, hence why I've opted to show off Side D in the frame. The record itself is actually the 2021 remaster, but the band made copies available with both covers, so I - of course - opted to go for the 2009 cover.

I remember reading somewhere I can no longer locate that the album's title meant something like "You will never know why bad things happen to you." At least, that's now the meaning which was imparted unto me, and partially why the original cover stuck out so much. It was my computer's wallpaper for nearly 2 years.

The above video and picture were both taken using a Panasonic PV-GS65 which I received earlier this year and have been obsessed with. This is now a physical media blog where I show you physical media recorded onto physical media, for some odd reason. Or, rather, because it's awesome and I like recording onto it. I find the footage very interesting to see.

MITSKI - BE THE COWBOY

...AND I AM THE IDIOT WITH THE PAINTED FACE ~ 3/29/2026 TO 4/5/2026 [ROTW]

I was vaguely familiar with Mitski before I had first listened to this album in 2021. The only song I had really heard was 'Nobody,' and even then, I only barely knew the song. I'm pretty sure it was my partner who convinced me to listen to the album, or mentioned it to me, or something of the sort - but it left quite the impression on me. I got into Mitski through this album. I still remember where I was and what I was doing the night I first listened to this, mostly because of how Washing Machine Heart hit me like a truck. It marks a growth in Mitski's style which started with her 2016 record "Puberty 2" (how fitting) and only continued to blossom and flourish across "Be the Cowboy," and continued to evolve and change across her more recently released works.

This record was a Vinyl Me, Please exclusive. It's a very nice shade of red, came with an insert to signify the fact that it's an exclusive from VMP, and also came with an art book and a nice, solid card-stock poster (pictured last). The front of the jacket has all of the text on it embossed so that it only shows up when the light hits it right - which I also think is a very nice, very fun touch. Something else I'm very fond of is how the record's labels line up with the sleeve. It's something I've seen done a few times, but I like how the interpretation of the text changes depending on if you're looking at it in the sleeve or outside of the sleeve. I will note, however (and despite the labels being distinguishable with the text on them), I Hate When Records Don't Have Labeled A/B Sides. Fuck

FAVORITES: Why Didn't You Stop Me, Me & My Husband, Nobody, Washing Machine Heart

VERDICT: Solid 8/10. The album that got me to listen to the rest of Mitski's discography and become a fan to this day.

HOLD YOUR BREATH, I'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS A THOUSAND TIMES ~ 3/22/2026 TO 3/29/2026 [ROTW]

I stayed up for the release of Revengeseekerz after seeing leaks online that it would be releasing on either 4/5/25 or 4/11/25. I decided that I would end up staying up until midnight on both of those days in hopes of it releasing. As you may know, it released on 4/5/25 and immediately blew me away. It's a relentless 49 minutes of genre-blending, sample mixing, and repeated use of Palkia's cry from the 4th generation Pokemon games (it's on every single song and I love it). All-in-all it's a show of production and a streak of revenge - it's meant to represent Jane taking back their old sound and style and making something entirely new out of it. It's a stark contrast to their 2023 album "Census Designated," which was a stark contrast from their 2021 debut "Frailty," which was a stark contrast from their 2021 EP "Teen Week." Jane Remover's style has been continuously evolving for years and it all culminates in the penultimate form across Revengeseekerz' runtime.

THIS COPY is #432 out of 777 from Vertigo Vinyl. they've done some really cool exclusives for Jane (some of which I also have). It's a red-in-yellow color-in-color with a black splatter and a screenprinted d-side which reads "REV." This is something that is sometimes done when an album is too long to be an LP but too long to be a double LP. I have a few others like this. Smile. :)
