I hope I don’t sound unfair saying this, but please online shoppers give the self isolators a chance. I work in retail and have most likely caught the virus as I’m showing too many symptoms relating to it, so to prevent the spread I decided to self isolate, as well as being generally unwell with this, to top it off I also have asthma, so breathing has been proving a keen opponent. I have almost run out of food and drink in my house, so I, who doesn’t have a car nor do I have many people who can help with the food shopping have to rely on online shopping... so I thought. It turns out that many slots have been booked across multiple sites for at LEAST a WEEK! I understand and respect those who are elderly, people with disabilities, who also don’t have cars, who live in remote areas and other fellow self isolators, carers, those with an ill loved one, those who have the virus, but this isn’t fair. I know that may sound petulant but it really isn’t. I am worried about how I’m going to feed myself, to drink anything besides my own tap water. I’m frustrated at the people who haven’t got the virus and don’t show symptoms, those who have their own cars and can easily go to the shops. I’m more sure than not that many people who have booked all the slots are panic buyers and reasonably fit people who don’t want to leave the house. I know it’s not pleasant being stuck in those crowds but PLEASE, give the more vulnerable people a chance to get their own online shopping first, don’t just hit the panic button when you may not need to. All I ask is to please be considerate of others around you, someone close to me is considering leaving self isolation just to get us food because we can’t wait a week to get bread and milk.
