Since the identity of the Sweet Sixteen Killer is known in Timeline 2, I don't think it would be as big of a part of the town's identity as it in Timeline 1. So I propose that the big unsolved mystery the town builds itself around in Timeline 2 isn't the killings.

chapa pays attention to miles so much more than the others, some of my evidence:

she knows exactly how many times it took miles to teleport successfully (mika in the middle)

chapa gave milk to miles when he needed it, albeit she didn't know it was spicy milk but still (say my name)

chapa was the only one concerned for him after he had a vision and got lasered (family lies)

chapa literally recalled that miles teleports to the man's nest every night to take a hot tub, something mika probably said in passing conversation (a danger among us)

chapa sees first that miles came to save them and additionally asked what made him upset in the beginning despite saying that she didn't care (alien zoo)

chapa also started miles's reputation of having the best sandwiches around, she so wants him to succeed in everything (class action heroes)
