Anya Taylor-Joy on the set of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 🌹
Here is my oil painting of the guitar-playing Doof Warrior. I chose to paint this moment because, for me, it encapsulates the sheer insanity of the Mad Max world.
The image of Immortan Joe devoting so many resources, fuel, metal, manpower, just to build a moving platform for a guitarist is absurd, yet perfectly in tune with the logic of his wasteland empire.
The stage and the figure on it offer no tactical advantage in battle, no real strategic purpose. Instead, they exist as a spectacle, a symbol of power, and a way of overwhelming the senses of both his enemies and his own followers.
That’s what makes this scene so striking to me: it’s loud, theatrical, and completely unhinged, an embodiment of chaos given flesh and sound.

not to Fury Road post on main but "Witness me" basically just means "Watch this." Really fits into the suicide cultiness of it all that Immortan Joe had all those guys dying while saying "Watch this!"
More low-quality shitposts absolutely nobody asked for: Furiosa with Achewood quotes.
(This is all @kookyburrowing's fault for posting an Achewood panel in Discord and reactivating the dormant but significant chunk of my brain still devoted to 00s webcomics. It is brain tape since young times)
Today in low-quality shitposts absolutely nobody asked for: Mad Max Fury Road with Achewood quotes
Late to the Furiosa: Mad Max Saga party, but damn, what a fun film. Loved the addition of Praetorian Jack, that War Rig fight scene was epic.
Just some impressions from the making of Fury Road to remind you that they used as less CGI as possible. Thank you George ♥
George Miller the realest person you’re ever gonna meet.
are you fucking kidding me that was two straight hours of ACTUAL EXPLOSIONS
The best part is that, from my understanding, there were quite a few scenes where George Miller said “No this is too dangerous we’ll do this in post” and the rest of the crew was like “NO LETS DO IT NOW WE CAN DO IT”
are you telling me this was fucking cirque du soleil in the desert with fucking explosions
Tom Hardy described it as slipknot meets cirque du soleil
literally they hired cirque du soleil acrobats to get the aerial stunts right.
George Miller is like the anti-Hitchcock. Hitchcock threw lives birds at people and fucked them up and George Miller goes ‘no you can’t have people on see-saws with engines at the end going 500 miles an hour!’ and the actors are all like ‘bitch try me’.
Go to Bookshop.org or your local library and use it to read BLOOD, SWEAT & CHROME: THE WILD AND TRUE STORY OF MAD MAX: FURY ROAD by Kyle Buchanan. It’s an oral history of the pre-production, filming, and release of Fury Road, and you will boggle repeatedly at everything these people did. The cars did work. The flamethrower guitar played music AND threw flames. The polecats really did wave back and forth over the desert while the cars were moving. Incredible stuff.
evertyhing on this post times a fuckin mil. it’s truly amazing no one died making this film
Anya Taylor-Joy and Tom Burke as Furiosa and Praetorian Jack in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
maybe my favorite screenshot from fury road
Today I posted the final chapter of the Furyjack fic I've been working on for the last 10 months, so I figured I'd do some slightly awkward promotion here too.

Dark Sky, Dog Star is a canon-divergent AU that opens with the Stowaway sequence flipped on its head. In this world, Furiosa doesn't go to the Citadel, but stays in Gastown as Dementus's daughter. Many years later, Little D – now just Dee – joins the Mortiflyer attack on the War Rig. But when her plan blows up, her best chance at survival might be forming an uneasy alliance with the Praetorian Jack – even though she just introduced herself by holding a gun to his head.
This meeting sets off a series of events involving action, angst, political scheming, war, two surrogate biker uncles trying their best, yearning, battle couple behaviour, smut, even more angst, and maybe even some kind of redemption.
Also it's somehow 179,561 words long. (I don't know how that happened either.)
Evening at the oasis ✨
A very self-indulgent drawing. Jack helping Furiosa bathe… They deserved the world tbh…
war boys would love the idea of gender affirming surgeries. hell yeah brother that’s a shine body mod. you’re hot rodding yourself. glory be.
