It’s that time of the year again :)
in honor of our boy Lance
i had a dream where tornadoes were made illegal or something i just remember like a dozen police cars driving directly toward a tornado with their sirens on and all getting sucked into the tornado
why is this so fucking funny
So, something got me thinking about my ‘Natsume has youkai blood’ theory/headcanon and I just remembered an episode that’s, really damning.
The last episode of season 5, ‘To The Ephemeral Ones‘
In the episode, Natsume comes down sick, like, so feverish he can’t get out of bed, sick. And two members of the Dog’s Circle take it upon themselves to procure him some medicine so he’ll get better.
Natsume takes the medicine and in the next scene with him, we’re treated to this exchange between him and Touko, a scene that takes place at most, an hour or so later.
Natsume, who was so sick he couldn’t get out of bed, let alone go to school, Natsume who was so sick he missed, at least a week of school (I don’t know if it was stated how long he was out but it’s implied it was a fair while), has made a near 180 turn around in his condition.
His fever is gone, he’s able to get out of bed and eat, and apparently feeling well enough he can go back to school. That is, not the kind of change that happens that quickly.
By all accounts, the medicine did it’s job, it made him better.
Except, we’re then treated to this scene right before the episode ends.
Hmmmmmmm……
I mean, you *could* argue that it was just a lucky coincadence that Natsume just happened to make a near full recovery at the same time that he took some medicine which apparently doesn’t do anything to humans. But honestly that’s 1) kinda lazy and 2) I don’t recall this show pulling these kinds of coincidences.
Either a) this is one hell of a coincidence
b) it actually DOES work on humans and Hinoe was misinformed
or c) Natsume isn’t entirely human
I for one, am leaning towards option C.

What even was Matoba like in highschool, in the classroom. Like, imagine going to class everyday and that guy is just sitting in the back, lurking. You feel a menacing presence staring at the back of your neck during math class and it’s just. Freaking Seiji-kun working on his calc problems, again.
“Oh, what is this? ”
This show is over 10 years old and this meme has probably been done a thousand times over but I’m still contributing

By the time he’s eighteen, Kaname knows a lot, but it took him a long time to get there.
He can’t even count how many late nights he and Taki spent camped in her grandfather’s study, all those long hours of reading handwritten journals, combing through a good man’s life work. Taking an impossible language apart letter by letter and rebuilding it into something they understood, until the symbols making up the yokai circles were as familiar to them as the kanji they learned in elementary school.
“There’s so much here,” Taki said once, hair piled up on top of her head, sleepless shadows under her eyes. But she was so bright, that day, her face a study in remarkable determination as she touched one of her grandfather’s books with reverent fingers. “Help me, Tanuma. I want to make him proud.”
“Of course,” Kaname said, covering her hand with his own. One of his very first friends and one of his very best. She looked up at him, and her expression melted into something warm. Her fingers wrapped around his and squeezed.
“You help everybody,” she said, not quite teasing. “Will he ever know how much you’re doing for him?”
There was no prudent way to answer her, and maybe Taki knew that, so they just sat in silence together, hands clasped comfortably between them.
