On Lance Being a Rebound

I really don’t like to tell people how to feel about ships, but what you’re saying about Allura goes beyond ships, it’s downright gross. To basically say that if you’re anything other than a woman’s very first partner then she doesn’t value you enough is misogynistic and honestly I don’t know how you go through life lacking the basic common sense to know that some people *gasp* don’t marry the very first person they date and sometimes move on with a new partner.

The reason for her only liking Lance now isn’t just “oh dear I broke up with Lotor better rebound onto Lonce because he’ll do ohohoho but I don’t actually like him”, it’s because not even the stanniest of lance stans would have gone out with early voltron Lance considering the way he treated Allura with a complete lack of respect. Now, he’s grown as a character enough to love and respect her and Allura sees that in him.

Stop saying Lance “deserves to be someone’s first choice” because that’s a completely ridiculous standard to hold women to and it literally doesn’t make a difference which “choice” he was if she loves him.
