Stuntman Gary Powell has a smile on his face as he prepares for the barrel roll, the key stunt in the amazing pre-titles boat chase for "The World Is Not Enough".
The Sunseeker and Q Boat head up river before continuing with the pre-titles boat chase for "The World Is Not Enough". The boats are passing in front of the MOD (Ministry of Defence) Building and the gilded eagle of the RAF (Royal Air Force) memorial on Victoria Embankment.

Stuntman Wade Eastwood has his eyes on the Cigar Girl's machine gun. Mounted on the rear of the Sunseeker Superhawk 34, the Heckler & Koch HK 21 7.62mm heavy machine gun was to be used later in the pre-titles sequence before Gary Powell (as James Bond) took it out by performing a magnificent barrel roll in the Q Boat. An explosive sequence of the pre-titles boat chase from "The World Is Not Enough". The Cigar Girl's Sunseeker crashes through a Police launch which then ignites a fuel depot. Sarah Donohue was at the wheel of the Sunseeker and two stuntmen could be seen abandoning the Police boat moments before it was carved in two. Several more explosions were set off over several days, but this was the biggest and fiercest.

Not a boat in sight today, but still part of the pre-titles sequence for "The World Is Not Enough". The Bickers Action camera platform used for tracking the Q Boat as it jumps the steps in the ornamental cancel in Tobacco Dock. The late Dave Bickers can be seen in the driving seat of the vehicle. This is the exact location where wheel clamper Ray Brown was drenched by the passing Q Boat.
It was exactly 25 years ago today, 30th March 1999, that I visited the location of the James Bond movie "The World Is Not Enough". EON Productions had started filming the pre-titles boat chase the day before, on a slip way alongside the MI6 building at Vauxhall Cross. This was to be the first of many visits I made to the River Thames and London Docklands film shoot. To celebrate this silver anniversary I am pleased to announce the publication of my Photobook entitled "Chasing James Bond"*.
This book will contain hundreds of exclusive behind the scenes photos of the famous Boat Chase, many of which have never been published before. It will be available Worldwide in both softcover and hardback editions. More information will be revealed over the next few months, when my website www.bondpix.com will be updated.
