Thinking about the Colima Spider Vessel. they really captured her humble expression
“While many people think fanfiction is about inserting sex into texts (like Tolkien’s) where it doesn’t belong, Brancher sees it differently: “I was desperate to read about sex that included great friendship; I was repurposing Tolkien’s text in order to do that. It wasn’t that friendship needed to be sexualized, it was that erotica needed to be … friendship-ized.” Many fanfiction writers write about sex in conjunction with beloved texts and characters not because they think those texts are incomplete, but because they’re looking for stories where sex is profound and meaningful. This is part of what makes fan fiction different from pornography: unlike pornography, fanfic features characters we already care deeply about, and who tend to already have long-standing and complex relationships with each other. It’s a genre of sexual subjectification: the very opposite of objectification. It’s benefits with friendship.”

Someone put it into words. I gotta sit down
Dust If You Must
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake, or plant a seed;
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb;
Music to hear, and books to read;
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, and the wind in your hair;
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go (and go you must)
You, yourself, will make more dust.

yeah more people would probably have more kids if it were less expensive and parental leave were better etc etc blah blah blah but fundamentally you either believe that women should have the bodily autonomy to unbreed the human race out of existence or you don't. and I am on the side of women
going on the handmaids tale tag is wild i forget everyone isn't insane about serena and june's toxic evil unhinged psychosexual obsession with each other. who the fuck is nick
having long distance friends is so fucked. do you wanna come over to my house and play (it will cost us 1 william dollars)

found a youtube channel where this brilliant woman is going episode by episode from the beginning of The Handmaid's Tale to explain that Nick is no hero, and tbh, she's right in saying it's obvious all the way back in episode two when he clearly knows what is about to happen to Emily and doesn't help her AT ALL.
the handmaid’s tale but the carol theme song plays every time serena does something gay
whatever you may think about how they (ahem) executed it, season 3 of yellowjackets did the one thing I am constantly asking for and made a heretofore assumed-straight lead queer in the middle of an ongoing series, contravening the unspoken bi/lesbian max quota that so many other mainstream stories seem to be limited by, and I think that's beautiful
