It’s also worth it to point out that in this alternate timeline of America, James Dean was president instead of Richard Nixon, and in his campaign he was known to race cars rather than partake in presidential debates. He also only spoke very briefly at his inaugural address to let other people such as Native Americans and Martin Luther King Jr. (who is still alive in this universe) to speak on what they thought was important. Then, to top it all off, he finished the speech by playing bongos. Bongos.

Being LGBT isn't a movement. To be LGBT, we don't have to agree with all the techniques of the LGBT rights movement. The only accomplishment of Stonewall was the formation of more LGBT rights organizations & we couldve done that without endangering innocent people. The violence against innocents was unnecessary and unjustifiable and harmed our movement by making us look dangerous

1) The Stonewall Riots helped more, it helped get the word out in a sense. People were talking about it so it opened up the conversation, as well as helping create LGBT groups.  2) People had been trying to help form those groups before, thats kind of what stonewall was, was where LGBT people and drag queens could go to mingle and be themselves.

3) The violence against LBGT was also extremely unjustifiable, and people were already calling the community terrible things such as p*dophiles, so i dont get where you got the idea that the stonewall riots just made people scared of us when they were already.

Sometimes when people aren’t willing to listen to your message peacefully, you gotta give the message more forcefully

To say that the Stonewall riots were unnecessary and unjustifiable is disrespectful for people who were there, to people like Masha P Johnson Who had the bravery to go against what was supposed to happen, which was her getting arrested for wearing female clothes
